Anyone using an Alpine IVA-D310 with Sat Nav in a Tuscan?

I'm teetering between puying a Pioneer AVIC-X1R for £950 (good for navigation, crap for iPod interface it seems) and spending an extra £500 for the Alpine which has good navigation and a good iPod interface.

Does anyone out there use the Alpine and is it as good as it sounds or are there some hidden problems with it? And does it actually fit in the Tuscan with that lovely overhang???
