technical question re. shocks

Just been told my cerbie''s front shock has let go and blown oil out. Also noted was that the anti-roll bar was loose and incorrectly refitted at the factory a 1000 miles ago when they undertook the engine rebuild. My question is, could the loose anti-roll bar place extra stresses on the shocks causing them to blow?
