I have heard that late wedges handle and brake better then the Griffs and Chims. Not being able to afford the latter, any views of those that have had both. Going to my nuke bunker now for a few years.

I suppose a late wedge owner told you this!!! No, sorry, I've owned both a wedge and a Griff and the braking capabilities let alone the handling are much improved on the Griff. Some wedges will have been substantially upgraded by now though so you should be able to find a good one out there. The in-board Jag rear brakes were never that brilliant though.

Yep, and I've heard that an 1800S/Vixen S1 will out-accelerate a Cerbera too.. Edited by Factory Hound on Monday 13th August 15:32

My S3C is faster than a Speed 12, the daily work car (Jeep Cherokee) is even faster and the wife's Defender TD5 outhandles the lot of them once you're above 115 mph. Tongue out of cheek - I think you've been given a slightly biased opinion.

In all honesty I think you'll get a load of enjoyment out of any TVR. There are many more Chims and Griffs out there and the majority of people who post here seem to own (or have owned) them. This is bound to lead to a view leaning towards the newer models. It is also fair to expect that the newer TVRs would perform and handle better (in standard form). However earlier TVRs that have been well maintained and sorted will still give a driving experience that leaves many modern sportscars cold (flak jacket on). I bought a S series because I prefered the look and relative rarity - it isn't as fast as a Griff etc, but it provides amazing value for money and I used my budget to get a late sorted S rather than an early Chim. All I would say is buy the best you can afford and if your budget allows for a good Wedge go for it and enjoy. Edited by JSG on Tuesday 14th August 00:22
