Newish TVR dealer
Discussion
Called into a newish TVR dealer in my aera, Notts/Derby, as I was passing in the rep mobile (Peter Smith Sports Cars)
What a c**t the owner/salesman is, I''m looking to change my Chimarea for a Cerbera, but after telling him ages of cars and budgets, quite reasisticfrom ted''s adverts prices, told me abruptly "you''ll not get one here then" and walked off, the bloke looked like the dodgy type you get at the car auctions buying tarted up BMW''s, and before that he only said he had started selling TVR''s because Proton, (sorry Lotus), decieded to stop poduction of the M250.
Incidently he is a Lotus dealer as well, so if any Lotus owners want to say he is a top bloke feel free, but I''m not going back regardless of budget!
Anyway thats got that of my chest, rant over!
Oh bother!
Out of the frying pan and into the fire then, as far as Midlands TVR dealers go.
I had hoped that perhaps this outfit might replace the gap left by the swift departure of Team Central. Perhaps not. Has anyone else had any dealings with them?
As far as servicing goes, as many people know, the same service team who ran the (IMO pretty good) Team Central workshop, are now running a (non official) TVR service, at the same premises, under the new name Team Proactive. They obviously know TVR's, and some of them used to look after the dealers Tuscan racer (until a few years ago). And then I suppose there's always TVR Power in Coventry for servicing, as well.
But if, like Raceboy, you're after a new set of wheels, it would be nice to have a decent, official TVR dealer in the W. Mids \ Staffs area.

Thats it, go in there and tell him what his prices should be cause you've seen them on some web site... I bet he had a similar opinion of you.
As he had a 95 Chimaera up for £19k to say £10k and my 94 Chimaera wasn't going to buy me an early 4.2 Cerbera and be so abrupt was a little rude.
TMS are great, they always have time for you, whether you have just called in passing, or buying a new Tamora, (I wish) and always get involved with TVRCC events. I only found Peter Smith by accident.
