Crankshaft urgently required

Can anyone out there help me please?
I need a crankshaft for my 1994 5Litre pre-serp griff 500
can't source one from the breakers (douglas valley, bell hill etc.)
Any ideas would be gratefully received (no I don't want to get rid of it!!)

Just be carefull that you get an original 500 crank from whoever you buy one from, a 500 90 mm crank is different to a 90mm aftermarket crank due to the webbs on them, on an after market crank you have to turn the webbs down so much you cant balance them due to the short rods that the tiv uses

you have obviously a snapped crank or something? nothing new there unfortunetly but are all the other components ok? if you are going to need to replace pistons etc as well you could run a different crank and piston combination, i will have a look on the shelf tomorow but i dont think i have one, tvr power should be able to supply you a new crank, if all they can supply is a large journal one you could have it turned down to fit your block

Surely if you have the expense of a 5 litre crank to find then 5.5 litres is just a short hop away?

ok so it *is* more expense but hey, you can't take it with you

5.5? Blimey. 5.2 I've seen with top hat liners, but I thought that was about as big as you could take them. Is that even longer stroke?

I understand that Rob has developed a Tardis engine spec that goes up to 5.5 liters.

Yes he has, its being put in my Griff now!,I have had a few problems with it (not down to Rob) ,but due to an overfuelling problem it bore washed and needed to be re-honed,which Rob has done FOC,we should have some dyno results soon ,watch this space!.
I also need a 5.0 L crank to rebuild my old engine,as my crank pully came loose and wore the crank nose due to the pully freting.

yeah, I think i'm right in saying that when Boosted developed the 5.5 litre crank he did it so it was possible to properly counterbalance it, or at least get it very close .. no doubt he'll be along in a mo to tell us. He's a clever chappie
