I'd love to do the whole bike thing (+ TVR) thing, but im pretty sure I would kill myself on a bike!!! Anyone care to talk me into it though?? I do get rather tempted...

Drop into biker banter, and maybe read one of Rawwr's threads about when he wanted to get into bikes.

They are great fun, don't believe all the stuff about how if you get a bike and you die. I've had a bike for a few months and I'm not dead yet, and there seem to be a fair few people here on PH who ride bikes!

If you are really interested, why not just do a CBT at your local riding school? IIRC it should be £60-£100, and you get to ride on the schools bikes so it doesn't matter if you bin it

nice TLR i hope you enjoy it, great amounts or torque probably similar to the Honda SP2 ive had a go on i can imagine, the inline 4 1000cc bikes e.g. R1,Fireblade,GSXR1000 etc are the fastest and most outright scary if you ask me, especially in the corners when the back stars to go

Yep I did my test at 50 and loved it, got a K100S as a starter and no problem, just getting big confidence when my mate suggested a quick buzz on his Blackbird, OMG I have never been so frightened in my life, the effing thing seemed to lift wheels in every gear. Get me back in Trevor

I've done the TVR and bike thing, although the TVR is gone now due to a house move, but want to get back to having both within a couple of years. My bike is a lot quicker than most TVR's though the TVR's offer much greater excitement on the limit.

I first rode bikes when I was 8 years old so I'm not without a fair bit of experience but even this is not enough to protect you from the majority of blind drivers out there - I've recently given up having a road bike - way too many close calls.

Im not brilliant at the whole self restraint thing though... and im a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain.

Haven't found any TVR yet that could keep up with it. Even my Griff

I had the benefit of riding since I was 17, and built up gradually. It does concern me a little that after a direct access course, you can buy such serious bikes so soon.

You can't odds the prat's on the road, but riding bikes certainly is the best training for avoiding accidents. My experience on them has saved insurance clains in the car at least 10 times due purely to other peoples mistakes. (my excess speed may have had something to do with a couple of them)

I'm another TVR and bike owner. I have a Ducati 749,been riding bikes since the age of 17 only trouble is what to use when the weather is fine ? Nice choice to make though

Interesting to see the kind of bikes TVR owners go for... I was expecting a fair few more Dukes/ an MV augusta or two? Suppose the thought of two sets of big bills per year is a little too much?

Been riding bikes on and off for 9 years now.

Got an almost new, hardly ever ridden 999 in the garage. It's up in the Classifieds though as I've only put 500 miles on it since March. If it doesn't go between now and spring, it's getting the Tubi system fitted that I have in a box next sat to it...

I've had a bike or TVR as a toy for a number of years now - would love both but havent got the time/money/space to justify it, not to mention the weather....!!!
Both are great, and when you havent got one or the other, you want another - thats my experience anyway!

Now wheres the MCN classifieds......
