Silverstone Yesterday.

Anyone on here at trackday yesterday,interested to know how the bloke and his purple chim ended up so far on the grass
at start at hanger straight.Shame it was so f*****g wet,but still a great laugh.
Wanted to have a chat with chap in silver griff,but i think you must have left early.
If the guy with the yellow boxter reads this,hope you are ok,and you are insured.Not a pretty sight,my heart sunk
when i went passed.

Am tempted to do a few track days myself!! Last one I did was on the bike earlier this year at good old Cadwell!

I was there yesterday - didn't see a purple chim - only other one I saw was blue? I was amazed that the track just refused to dry out in places - mainly the bends. It was fun though!

Was it the Club circuit you were driving?
Raced there on bikes in the wet....very scary, would love to try Trev in those conditions!

Hi Scott,it was the full GP circuit,very very slippery through the complex and onto start/finish straight.
Ask Gordon about his 3 x 360s down the straight.Jammy bugger
didnt hit a thing.
Shame it wasnt today.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that found that bit very slippy - the back end was just gently drifting outwards towards whichever elise was hassling me at the time. Still I'm glad I kept it on the black stuff like we was told to in the briefing.
Did you see that Caterham smack into the pit wall? I was surprised how strong it was (the caterham that is - not the wall. It dented the ali radiator but it didn't split it.
I really would like to try the circuit in the dry now.

Hi Nick,i was standing on the pitwall when it happened having a break,made a nice thud and yes i was also surprised at how tough it was.Is it just me,or were there some real A HOLES out there yesterday (especially the 2 blokes in the black evo who suddenly decided that the entrance to the pitlane wasnt where they wanted to go and suddenly veered back onto track pushing me to the edge as aproaching the straight,thanks guys.

It seems to me that there are always one or two holes of the A persuasion on trackdays (often in Jap 4 wheel drives - oops sorry showing my prejudices there). Luckily they seemed to be very much in the minority yesterday which is just as well given the conditions.
I have to say that on the whole the TVRCC trackdays seem to be the best behaved - IMHO of course.

I was the guy in the Griff ( it's Cal sage green not silver)I left just after the yellow Porsche was recovered.

I needed a stiff drink or two when I got back home - if only to wash my heart out of my mouth where it had spent most of the day!

It certainly was extremely slippy, I had a number of 'significant moments' out there but managed to keep it on the blackstuff.

I'd booked an instruction slot and found this useful not just for getting to know what is a very long and technically complex circuit but also to understand the difference between wet v dry racing lines.

I thought the on track behaviour was pretty good.

I went on a tuition/trackday at Silverstone GP circuit last November, thoroughly enjoyed it. Was this the same thing?

Hi Groucho,i was on that day last year.This one was just a trackday,quick briefing and virtually open pit lane all day.
