Any tips on how to deal with hard water marks after washing cars ? Have a Dark blue Chimp & water so hard it leaves huge white calcium (whatever) splodge marks all over, even after drying with a shammy; looks better covered in road filth. Getting board of polishing after every wash so thinking about trying some dishwasher softener or clarifier in the bucket ...

I just bought some Turtle Wax Extreme car wash and used it yesterday. It was bloody hot out there and I probably shouldn't have washed it then but it was so dirty it was getting embarrasing! It worked pretty well, I did get a couple of marks but possibly didn't wash it off thouroughly enough. Oh and don't believe the 'No need to dry' claim. All in all possibly the best product I've used to clean the car yet. BTW it's a Starmist Blue Chimaera.

I use Autoglym's Car Shampoo -- washed it late yesterday with the sun low in the sky -- and after a chamois down, it looked fine, no marks at all.

Use a decent Chamois-leather to remove the water after youve washed and youll find it removes most residue left behind from the water, my Griffs dark blue and I can get away with not polishing by using the leather!!
