Direct line mirrored the NCB I have on the TVR for the Astra.

AON will cover the Chim as a classic. You then don't need NCD on the Chim to get a good quote.

I've got this with Peart, just to give you a different option to try.

You cannot get no claims discount on 2 cars. However some, like those already listed above, will match the no claims discount if you insure 2 cars through them.

I was looking to insure 2 cars a couple of weeks ago and by shopping around I found it cheaper to insure the everyday car with full no claims at Norwich Union and insure the TVR on a limited miles policy with Classic Line.

Elephant will match the no claims on both cars. I insured the Tuscan with full NCD with them and they matched it onto the Toyota. (p.s. I switched both policies from Privilege, 'cos they wouldn't).

Had my Escort insured with Tesco and the Cerb with Royal and Sun Alliance. RSA pulled out of TVR's and new coy. suggested by broker want a fortune so had to reaarange. Tesco transferred the NCD from the Escort onto the Cerb, even tho I had had a claim on the Cerb in the preceding 12 months - THEN gave me the introductory discount, i think equivalent to 2yrs NCD, to reinsure my Escort with them. I like Tesco - nice people to do business with!

Can anybody help me please. I've recently bought a new more powerful car (BMW 325) than my previous one. Due to various misdemeanours my insurance is quite high and I need to bring this down with some claim free years of driving. My previous car was a piece of crap with a small engine and as such the insurance premium was fairly cheap, I have 5 months left to pay on this premium to gain a years no calim bonus. I was wondering if I could keep paying my old premium for the next 5 months along with my new premium and then in 12 months time when I renew my current policy, could I then present two years of no claims bonus to my insurers. I guess what I'm basically asking is: can I have two policies running concurrently, which can then be used as no claims bonus discounts when insuring in the future. Is this allowed?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can on seperate vehicles as long as you don't tell any porkies on one that you declare on the other.
ETA You wouldn't be able to have 2 years NCB though it only counts as one.

Crikey. That sounds high though, esp. if NCD is included.
Adrian Flux charged me £287 fully comp, agreed value, £500 excess, etc. (limited 5,000 miles p.a. classic car though) no NCD. Mines not garaged, on drive.

Same here - both policies disallow the addition of named drivers however, presumably the theory being that only one car is being driven at any given time and hence risk is reduced - both policies are approx £480 - daily driver is A6, Chim is 9000 miles pa, garaged - both in London postcodes

Admiral multicar did for me - adding the TVR to the policy allowed me to keep the same premium for my 2nd car.

Hi, I have a Multicar Policy with Admiral and insured my Chimaera 500 and Audi S3 with them. You can set up the policy very easily over the phone with them. You build up No Claims Discount on each car and Admiral gave me 3 years introductory NCD on the Tiv. You can keep your existing policy going on your second car and then add it on when the current one comes to an end. Hope this helps and good luck ;-)
