I recall many TVR owners saying they were going for the TSO?

For me, wishful thinking! If I was in the market for a brand new car I would prefer the TSO to a new TVR (something to do with it being a V8). The Sagaris looks awesome, but needs a V8 for me.

Interesting comment - if you want a car that's got a V8 and looks like a retro-styled throwback to early 90's TVRs, why not buy a Chimaera or Griff, and save a large wedge of cash?

The blind assumption that a British sports car needs a V8 for credibility is unrepresentative of a long line of motoring history, and there are a lot of cars out there which sound and go just as well as any V8. But, it's horses for courses, I suppose....

True, the quintessential British Sports car either has a straight 4, or straight 6 engine.

Nubbin, I was commenting on a brand new car, not something I would actually be in a position to buy at the moment.

I have experienced S6 engines, V6 engines and V8 engines, my personal preference is for a V8 for the soundtrack. That is all my preference is based upon. I prefer a 'growl' to a 'howl'. Now, if TVR were to drop an LSx in the Sagaris...... perfection!

Marcos have been "playing" with the exhaust to get a bigger V8 sound out of it.

Funnily enough, I'm slowly developing a weakness for the Marcos.

Last night I was talking to someone close to the TSO project who's driven the car in various guises. Make no mistake Stelliga is doing the job right and the Marcos has been back-to-backed with a Sagaris.

I've been wondering that myself, not only concerning Marcos, but also re. Wiesmann. I mean, the Chimaera and Griffith are IMO far more appealing and timeless designs than either, that do the brute Brit V8 roadster thing to perfection except for build quality that's variable at best, and the final 5% of suspension development. Add 5K to the purchase price of a decent one (OK, maybe 10 if you're a total perfectionist and don't do anything yourself) and you'll end up with something that will very likely more than stand comparison dynamically and for everyday useability, and is arguably less compromised aesthetically. For the price difference, one could just about put a new Tuscan or a slightly used M12 GTO (or given another 6-12 months, a Saggy) alongside it and enjoy both flavours of Brit(-inspired) sports car.

Waiting till the first couple of production GT2s are out, about, and tested. Will be looking for a new motor next year, and it's definitely on the list. (I've got a thing against buying new cars, however - would need to get over that first).
