I’ve been reliably informed that labour are intending put the road tax up to £2297 per year for a 4.0 litre Tuscan, this is due to be implemented next year, has anyone heard the same thing.

On what basis ??? TVRs never had any emissions measured so not very reliable hehe

Obviously don't understand the PRIVATE or LIGHT GOODS VEHICLE classification or THE MINISTERS APPROVAL CERTIFICATE FOR SMALL VOLUME MANUFACTURE

Exactly, specific cars don't pay a unique rate of VED. It depends on a set of criteria, and most TVRs don't have any emissions data (some do, apparently and have to pay over £700) so are charged the LGV rate, currently £360 per year. Any massive rise would be paid by all LGV vehicles.

Perhaps somebody saw the estimated 1 year running costs. smile

Any that do were incorrectly registered and their own fault for not sorting it out years ago if they were classified as PCs PETROL CARS !!!!

I've seen emissions data published in specs for the Cerbera in a few places for example. But like you say, shouldn't have made it onto the V5c.

Are we back on this again? Or is this a wind up and a whoosh?

Had it all over the internet with the tax changes for this financial year, with loads of people not reading the announcement properly but jumping straight on to Facebook.

Is that rounding down or something?

It's £375 for 12 months; £206 for 6 months (10% loading) and £32.81 p.m. for 12 m by d/d. (5% extra)

I suppose it's 6 months paying by d/d? 187.5 x 1.05 = £196.88. smile

Surely every good PHer buys the lot up front and gets money back when it's SORN in winter? Can't bear paying extra to the man, wink
