I was reading an old copy of sprint from the time of the takeover. A bit of concern mixed up with a whole heap of optimism because of the $$ he came with.
So, what do we think of the reign so far?

Tuscan II gets a good write up, posts on here from owners have been gerenally good.
Sagaris gets the best reviews of any TVR (certainly that I've read/seen). All the posts on the sagaris thread are tremendously positive.

Warranty on 2nd hand cars
New high profile London dealer
Build quality better ?
Engine more reliable?

T400 racing now seems to be dead in the water

What do we think of the show so far?
As the owner of a second-hand TVR which I bought before the takeover, I can't say I've really noticed any change. Apart from the fact that TVR are still going when perhaps they might have gone under, what exactly has the new TVR actually done? The Sagaris was alreadty signed off and I believe the Tuscan 2 was too, or was at least well advanced in concept.
In much the same way that Labour coasted on the Conservatives existing policies for much of their first term, it appears (to me at least) that Nicolai Smolenski has done much the same with TVR so far.
Or is that slightly unfair comment?

Too early to tell. I await the new totally NS models without the PW influence. The addition of off the shelf plastic parts as with the new Tuscan convertible is not something which installs excitement in me. The Jury is out for me at the moment. Most of the current cars seem to still be released with design faults. The Tuscan pod and the Sagaris bonnet to name but two. I do agree though that TVR may have disappeared altogether without his intervention.

not based on any knowledge, just a guess at the cost of the warranty/goodwill on the Speed 6
Just had a quick look at December 04 accounts of TVR engineering Ltd: Loss of £12m on £16m sales, with 40 reported CCJ.
I'm now convinced 10/10.
i am not particularly fond of the bloke in all honesty. sure he's done well so far with the tuscan 2 and the saggy but he is not got any experience with making hand built sportscars. if he shows that he can make new models of his own design than good luck to him. but if he buggers it all up he better run back home to daddy quick!
TVR would not have folded had the ruski not boughty the company.
Others were doing due diligence (sp) NS jumped this stage and the queue
EDIT marks 3/10 he seems to think far richer people are his future market,I.E not the vast majority of current owners.
He needs to grasp the fact that the S6 engine is killing TVR sales,its beyond help now as its reputation is so bad

Way too soon to judge IMO. It was widely known, as PW has pointed out in the past, TVR was not profit driven under his direction. NS will be looking at the bottom line and return on his investment(s) and is probably knee deep sifting through all the problems that have been piling up and trying to deal with the quality issues to reduce inefficiencies caused by returns and the obvious bad PR it generates.
I think it may take another 3 - 5 years before TVR is making a healthy profit which will allow them to invest in 'thorough' pre-production testing and production output reaches competition quality levels.
That is if NS has the cash/will/stamina to hang in there

....yep, but I wonder what the due diligence would've turned up!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't really have mattered it would have just driven the price down.IMHO thats why the ruski got it as PW probably realised DD would throw something up
it can only be a matter of time before there is an announcement, surely.
