Ive already got sports/decat pipes, and was debating a straight through exhaust. Just how much louder does a TVR become, when sports pipes are made into straight through pipes. Im guessing at 30%??

The cherry bomb - is it a straight through pipe? And how does a cherry bomb change the exhaust note?

And back pressure - I know nothing about this other than the fact that its needed - would it be affected by a 100% straight through exhaust? (apologies for so many questions). Finally, can straight through pipes be removed £easily£ if the neighbours start making death threats etc?

Try asking Silver Cerb, I think he's got straight throughs and it sounds awesome. Looks great spitting flames though the tunnels as well...

I've got the sports pipes(not straight through). On the way to Cream the night before (in the convoy) a guy in a Volvo stops next to me at some lights, "You've got flames coming out the back of your car" said the Volvo guy. "Yes, they all do that sir". or words to that effect

Im sure he is decatted with a sports zhorst, and a standard backside Could be wrong, but I dont think he has straight throughts. I know YP had a straight through exhausst, but ray/pauline did have cats(!) It would be cool to know just how loud a totally straight through system would be, before deciding what to do with mine.

Bob, go onto the www.tvrsseries.com website and go to my page there is a before and after recording on there? Not the best quality in the world but should give you an idea. Theres also a thread from last week on the S forum with the links to the before/after. enjoy.

As for whats a cherry bomb......Not entirely sure, but the way it was explained to me rather than just straight through pipes, they pad out the rest of the box, gives a different/Better (I think) note.

I will be out and about tomorrow somewhere down your way, am going for a blatt around Sussex with Nuggs to check out the route for a future blatt if you fancy a run out?? give me a shout.

Thanks Rob, but Trev isn't roadworthy at the moment. His new boots have only just arrived* and we also bought a new battery (to save Nuggsy coming round and help push him out of the garage!) which needs fitting. Will then need an MOT and a service at Austec. Really hoping all this can be done in time for Nuggsy's Sussex run in November.

(*Have to take it easy driving for a while, too.)

So, all in all, it can't happen today, I'm afraid. You've certainly got the weather for it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look promising for VW either.
