Most annoying road incidents involving ur TVR and numpties!

I'll start this one off...
Pulled out onto a roundabout, had a black cab come up right at me, no signs of slowing down, I panic'd missed a gear and stalled!!! lol, the cabbie swerved merely missing my rear end, horned like a child with a new toy, then my baby decides not to start!!! some alarm/imobiliser fault, slowed all traffic down (an A1 roundabout!).... some trucker decides to come and give me a hand, and said quote "should have guessed, a trevor".... lol.... managed to start again after pressing the alarm fob buttons like crazy, only to stall again 40 odd yards off the roundabout... bloody tpots!
I'm thinking, if the cabbie didnt scare the living crap out of me by appearing like a torpedo diving at me from no where, I would have been ok! :banghead: :banghead: memories, cant live with them, or without them... :hehe:

Not specifically a problem for me, but on the way back from the Big Northern Gathering, somewhere on the outskirts of York went to turn right at a roundabout. Due to traffic have to stop and then set off, so accelerating gently get to about 30 (in 3rd). It looked like a car on other side of roundabout was going to try and get out in front of me, but then he decides to wait, maybe due the V8 rumbling noise approaching. Anyway, shame that the driver (female, cough) behind him didn't want to wait, result of wallop and much flying plastic bits as I exited the roundabout.
Weekend before last, I was in our new Grinnall, leaving the Oxford ring road at the A44 roundabout, Chimaera joins roundabout, undertakes me whilst i was attempting to leave said roundabout, and leaves yours truly with pee'd off mondeo trying to force me into service station on same roundabout. Thanks, pal.
Last Monday
Old Boy Numpty decided he was going to serve across the roundabout we were both navigating without any indication straight into the front near side quarter.
Dont you just hate those people who think they are perfectly within their right to go right round the outside of roundabouts???
Worse part is was there was no witnesses (yeah right), the old boy says I was right on his bumper
(I wasnt, I said if you knew I was 'right' behind you why did you swerve into my car?????)
I reckon it will go 50/50 on the insurance and Ive got a 600 quid excess! Nice!

Wanker lorry driver this morning deliberately blocking me from joinging the M25 at Jcn19 - ended up pushing me into the hard shoulder - defo company lorry but not stickered up so i couldnt get a Co name :fume:
You should give way to him. Those lines at the end of the slip road mean "give way". He's under no obligation, other than good manners, to let you on.

Do you know Jcn 19 ??
The marked lines are approx 1/2 mile long, its 2 lanes entering the M25 and at that time in the morning its bumbper to bumper, in front, behind and on the M25 itself, i actually had no where to go, he deliberately squeezed me on to the hard shoulder, he'd slowed down as i was approaching the end of the slip and left a bit of a gap, i assumed to let me in, as i went to move out, (indicator on all the way along the slip) he then sped up deliberately closed the gap by attempting to squeeze me into the rear of the lorry in front, i chose discretion as the better part of valour and went down the hard shoulder...
I'm well aware of the rules of the highway thanks, this was deliberate...
Hi, sorry, I feel I have to defend the guy a bit. I'm not trying to make a war but its easy to have a pop at things. We are only hearing your side of this story. Having driven artics for 12 years or so I feel more than qualified to comment.
This 'w@nker' lorry driver has probably been on the road since you were still snuggled up in bed with the rest of the peeps, he's probably travelled a fair few more junctions than you around the M25 and if previous experience has anything to go by every muppet in a car has attempted pushing in at a junction which as stated before, they are crossing the give way lines, THEY give way, not the other way round. He's probably let a few cars in here and there and as the norm, none of them have thanked him.
None of this includes the bit just before you joining, he's also had to deal with the guys deciding that they don't want to queue and gone from the outside lane to the sliproad off the motorway at the 1 marker.
As you say the J19 slip is long, but as you mention you had to avoid him and swerve to the hard shoulder which means you were at the end of the sliproad maybe? Of course I don't know where you or he was, just going from what you said. You clearly had ages join it???? why pick there at the last moment?
Now I'm not having a pop at you, but we see this everyday, ALL day.
I would love all people to have a go in one for the day after passing there test, just to realise that when you think you're being clever by squeezing into a gap you are risking YOUR life. To me up in the cab its gonna be like treading on a jam donut.
Phew.... glad thats off my chest, it just irritates me to hear people ranting about trucks when 90% haven't a clue. Who did you all rely on a few years ago for the fuel cuts? What happened this time when they didnt blockade?
Still, it could be he was a 'w@nker'. We have ours too, as in all professons!
..........Oh and when we're overtaking and it take 3 miles, dont blame us, blame the god damned eurotw@ts for putting speed limiters that are all different by 1-5mph. YOU try following another car for 87 miles when you catch him then have to ease off, then catch him, ease off.......... No chance, I'm going around!

Just picked up the 520 from Tower View after body respray. Pulled into Sainsburys to get some fuel and there was a bit of a queue, Waited about 8 feet behind a Discovery. Disco driver decided that waiting was beyond him and started to reverse. I hit the horn but couldn't move back as there was someone behind me. Disco just kept coming back and went right over the front of the bumber and halfway up the bonnet. Mr Disco then realised something and drove forward and ripped the front bumper and headlamp unit off.
Apparently the accident was my fault as he couldn't see the car because Discos have limited visibility. Insurers disagreed and he lost his no claims.

Most people fail to realise how fast a TVR can accelerate, they see you in their rearview, a kilometer behind them, but dont look again when pulling out, failing to realise that within 2-3 seconds you'll be overtaking them, or ploughing straight through them
Last weekend I came off a roundabout (nothing sexual) and was chucking the gears away, up into 4th
when one of these numpties pulled out into the fast lane
I felt 1.3 tonnes of weight on my shoulders (to describe the weight of fear, if you know what I mean
) and had to overtake on the hard shoulder...

Its happened before, but never again. The only straight you can practice your 10>70 on would be the dry stretch which is entirely void of other vehicles.

Was coming down the road near my house the other day at what could be considered a "fair" pace around 9:30 at night. On the right there is a load of parking for the nearby Airfied where people walk their dogs etc. During the day this usually fosters all sort of numpty behaviour such as people stopping doing a 3 point turn, or vereing across the road to a standstill to try and park or the best one, where from parked they attempt a U Turn in the middle of the road with vehicles coming both ways. I was coming along, when I saw lights come on and a Silver 206 pulls out, so I ease off apply a little brakes, but to my horror 206 has decided to stop diagonally across the road!! So I hit the brakes harder, but 206 pulls on the the left and trundles off, I can see the road which curves off the the right is completely clear (it is at night and on the right is a field so you can see the whole road) so I indicate and intend to overtake, pull across to the right, off the brakes back on the throttle. But wait!! 206 then wanders across to the right at a tiny speed, still wandering intp my path, seemingly oblivious to me oncoming it continues to totter along at a snails pace. By this time I was approaching at a rapid pace, so I hit the brakes (thank God I have uprated brakes!). Annd come to a halt behind 206, which then proceeds to wander back across to the left at 20mph. This continues all the way round to my house (the wandering and the 20mph).
Needless to say it was an elderly couple out walking their dog at night as I coud see the tell tale wispy curly hair and flat cap sillouhettes.
Basically akin to Bob's story but with more numptyism.

I had to steer violently to the left, to avoid being hit by an old bag who wandered half way into my lane as she took a bend. I was SO lucky to have spotted her coming, else Id have needed some body work done for sure.
90% of the 'close calls' Ive had have been the fault of others (V8Smith, if you're reading, dont say anything mate
)This made me laugh -
A while ago I was driving along a high street in a small village in Lincolnshire. It was about 11pm, and the street was well lit. A car was coming the other way. We were both going slow (approx 25 mph). Without warning/indicating the car made a suicidal turn right, in an attempt to get into the driveway of the house to my left. Hilariously, the driver miscalculated the turn, and missed the driveway entrance by a good few metres, banging to a halt on a particurlarly high kerb. This happened pretty quickly. So I was left doing 25mph with a car sideways across my side of the road - about 10 FEET in front on my bumper! As I swerved round (luckily no other traffic) I had time to glimpse in the car - looked like a woman driving, and what I can only assume as her husband sitting besider her. The look of despair/ahamedness on his face was priceless!

Not actually in the TVR but in my previous job Commanding a Challenger (tank not space shuttle)on convoy in Germany being follwed by a very impatient BMW owner.
Doing a steady 45mph when a Deer ran out in front. The driver but his brakes on and the Challenger stopped in about 20 feet (litteraly) amid a cloud of smoke and curses.
Unfortunately the impatient BMW did not and I heard rather than felt the car hit the back remove its roof and settle nicely under the tank.
Fortunately the driver wasnt hurt but it took some removing and the German police had little sympathy.
So if youre ever driving behind a Tank no matter what brakes you have don't think you can outbrake it.......You can't
