What are your best TVR 'smugness' moments....?
Times when it all became worth it ?
Moments of pure car related perfection ?
Times when you were glad to be you (and a TVR driver) ?
Someboby I know once walked back to his Lotus Esprit, only to arrive almost simultaneously with a fella who was clearly pretending to own the car to impress a group of ladies accross the street. He piped up "nice car mate" ....."how long have you had it" - sheepish fella tries to keep up the game (ladies watching)...
my mate listens politely, only he unlocks...gets in...and roars off (grinning) ...as the now RED fella talks to himself.

No single moment springs to mind. I've had a few good drives on good roads on a nice day.
Yesterday I had a dalliance with a brand new BMW soft-top. All in good fun with both of us smiling and the other passenger (young lad) punching the air with enjoyment. I slowed to let him pass and we shared a grin. Things like that make it worthwhile.

When dad I were in Le Mans we parked up in the grassy area and two Dutch guys come over to me and Rob Neale (owns a Sagaris): "Jusht to shay you've guysh here have dee best lookink carsh!"
Nothing can sum up TVR ownership really, especially in the short lengths of messages we are allowed here. Nice things like opening the garage and seeing an agressive and purposeful front-end staring you back in the face is always a nice one

On way back from Lemans went past 4or5 corvettes. Moments later huge roar as they came charging back past. So of we went, for next 15mins we played,taking turns to blast past. (Dual carriage way)Girl in one of the vettes had video on all the time, wouldnt mind a copy of that. Tuscan seemed a good match in acceleration etc. Reached peage, big grins and thumbs up all round.
The time a rider on a flash bike thought he had me beat pulling away from a junction.....
The look of absolute shock as he casually looked to his left (expecting to see me eating his dust) just as my rear wheels aquired grip in second gear, and all he could see was my bonnet as he frantically tried everything to edge ahead......was something that I will never forget

Have had loads of great moments. Nice comments are made every time we go out in it so too many to mention on here.
Had a great one yesterday though.
We turned up at the meeting place of the Ferrari run and went to admire the cars. When we came back there were two fellas looking at the Saggy. The told us how good it looked and then proceded to tell us how they preferred it to the Ferrari's. Their reasons were because it as something different and it looked amazing.
They weren't Ferrari owners (as you might have guessed)and one of them said that if he could afford "a car like that" he would rather buy a TVR.
Made me feel good

Best TVR Smugness - In a pub and grabbed by a bunch of guys I went to school with. All 3 start talking about cars. One says: "Do you remember you had that mini, you used to think it was so fast. Have you still got it?"
"Yes" I reply, "It's off the road now though, needs some repairs as it's a bit too unreliable."
"Well it was falling apart when you had it at school."
Next guys says: "I've just bought a beemer!"
"Nice" I repy, "Which one?"
"Brand new 318 ES Coupe." he says, "0-60 in 10 seconds, in black with leather. I was going for the standard, but Nick here said, sod it go for the Coupe. The ladies love it."
They banter on for a little while, the other has just bought a brand new Clio, and the other is buying a flat so has a 205.
Eventually they look at me: "So what are you driving these days Chris?"
"Me? Well the mini was too tuned, got 0-60 in around 9 seconds or so, not bad for a 1 litre, loads of Mid to top power though. That's a bit faster than your beemer isn't it?"
"So you're stil driving your mini?" He shakes his head laughing.
"No, had to take it off the road."
"So what are you driving?"
"Nothing a flash as a Beemeer, just you bog standard TVR."
Que Jaws hitting the ground.
"Did you say TVR? As in Black pool, TVR?"
"Yeah."
"Is it outside? Can we have a look."
Smug mode.
When it all became worth it. - Last Summer in th S3, blitzing up the Coast road with Minimax in his Ginetta before grabbing some food then stiing by the beach.
Motoring perfection - This week when I fixed the Griff's manifold Gasket (I think) Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts on the Stereo (What Planet is this), Caterham bypass, clear RH lane, top down, on the Handsfree to my Girlfriend, giving it lots of the loud pedal, and reportedly shouting out "I love the powerrrr!!!!" then all she heard was the exhaust until I slowed down.
Glad to be me in the TVR - When ever youget a wave from another Tiv owner.
The smug moments in my TVR usually involve myself, a BMW of some kind, a bit of tailgating, and the same BMW rapidly becoming a speck in my rear view mirror.
Honestly, its hilarious. It p1sses them off like nothing on earth when they find they're not the fastest car on the road.

Two fit blokes in a Ferrari caught up in slow moving traffic in the centre of town drew up beside me in the Tiv on the opposite side of the road. The driver winds down his window to say something only except by this time I'm revving the engine, with a hand to my ear mouthing "sorry, I can't hear you..."! And then I smiled and waved
The flipside of this was when two young men in a Dodge Viper came up behind my Chim and deliberately revved their engine. I couldn't hear mine at all above the noise of the Viper's
couple of smug moments, mainly with Porsches I must say!
Driving on the A1 car in front so going nowhere, a 90's 911 comes up behind me flashing lights for us all to pull over as he has a faster car...not! hes so close I cant see his reg, the car in front pulls over I knock it into third doing 70 and look in my mirror as he starts to disappear, i then slow down and let him pass and he gives an embarrassing/acknowledging wave as he passes me, gotta love TVR.
Another on the A1 a newish 911 turbo pulls alongside and gives a bit of a smile, so I floor it as does he and he edges away only slightly, we do this for about 20 miles and he cant lose me only edging away a bit, when he turns off he gives me the thumbs up, very smug?
Best moment, was driving from offord Motor company after they fitted the 'cheery bomb' to my exhaust, the noise is now awesome.....! Love it.

Best time : to be asked in a petrol station by two policemen what is the brand of my car and asking if i could rev it a little bit just for the pleasure of it.
One of them just said that my griff was probably faster than his bike... (i did not tell him he was bloody right... )
