I insure my Chim 500 with Footman James, agreed value £25,000. Last year’s premium was £309, now they’re quoting £542 to renew though there’s been no claims or convictions.

Where’s everyone else insuring please? That’s a big increase.

Nothing new, need to shop around. My Tuscan insured with FJ. If it's not a competitive price this year at renewal will go somewhere else.

Insurance costs supposed to have dropped by around 20% this year.
I know for my everyday car which does more miles and needs business cover my insurance has reduced this year, which was a surprise.

Not a Tvr, but my 2016 m135i was £453 March last year (Aviva). Had my renewal come through and was astounded at the price.

After searching market supermarket etc and all the usual places for a cheaper quote.

I ended up renewing with Aviva for £381, I think it’s the first time probably 25 years it’s gone down in cost, especially without having to change or price match someone.

Have you got AA/RAC recovery on it as that's has gone up more in my situation. So ditched that as now joined the AA to cover both cars.
1996 Griff 500 at £22k valuation (86k miles) is £266 with FJ. Gone up £35 on 2024.
Not sure that helps you as it just doesn't make sense unless you are in parking somewhere on the insurance grey/black list.
Plus, mine is in a car port, on the drive.

I know that’s right but a bit of a PITA for a specialist car when I need a guaranteed value. For my every day car I can easily use the comparison websites.

For several years now, I've taken out personal breakdown cover, because I have several vehicles. AA / RAC have no age limit (many do, be careful when shopping around), as long as it's UK registered, and will cover me on a motorcycle too. smile I'm with FJ at the moment too and renew in April, we'll see.....

I've used the comparison websites for my TVR insurance and the cheapest policies offered are actually classic policies anyway. The company names (Lancaster etc) are a giveaway as well as the 'more details' button but also the fact that they appear no matter how much NCB you put in. The meerkat won't quote on cars made before 1970 though. frown

ClassicLine have always provided me with good cover for my 450 - valuation £24k. Might be worth a try.

Thanks, I’ll give them a try. I’m on a cruise ship right now so can’t telephone & they don’t appear to have an online quote system.

There's an earlier thread almost the same as this, also discussing F-J price increases and suggested alternatives :

Don't touch Ageas. When a woman knocked me off my motorbike, they wanted to go 50/50. Turns out they insured both of us. Took almost 2 years to resolve through the ombudsman

Well I got my FJ renewal for my Tuscan. None of my circumstances changed.
Last year £215 this year £513 ! Do they just plug a random figure out of the air ? They don't want my business, so will be going else where.
