Mirror removal?

Both my mirrors are suffering from flakey paint.
Was planning to remove the mirrors and take them for a respray during the winter months.
I recall someone saying this is a bitch of a job, is this true?
Don't mind how long it takes, just don't want to bugger anything up!!

Be every aware that getting them out is not the problem.

Tidying them up is not the problem.

If you miss next summer 'cause you're still trying to fit them back on, don't come moaning to me.

Hiya

My drivers side mirror fell off yesterday (luckily caught it as I got out the car!!) It is temporarily repaired for now,will get it fixed as soon as the part arrives!
However my electric adjustment of the mirrors has always been flakey between working and not. Is this usual or when I get them fixed should they be significantly better??

Mine packed up a few months after I bought the car, never really bothered about it, perhaps now's the time.
