TVR to Australia !

Hello,
I am migrating to Australia (Sydney) next year and would like to take my Chimaera with me! They love V8's down under and we would be able to leave the roof in the garage for most of the year...
Has anyone shipped a TVR to Oz before and are there any OZ PistonHeads members out there? I looking for details of import duties and meeting their local car regs. Also would be interested to know about sourcing parts in Oz and servicing.

Look up Cinquecento in the members directory,he has a Griff in Sydney,There are a few PHer chims in South Australia too,do a search in the Aus forum's.
I'd do a some serious research into exporting your car,I read in the Chim forum a while ago there was a recall due to frontal impact,however the Chims that are there have been exempted.

I did have an enquiry from an Oz Griff owner who was asking for adjustable shocks because their new test insisted that the centre of the headlights was too low and he wanted to lift the ride height up, IIRC it had to be 500mm ish centre of headlight to the ground.
Whether there were any other problems, I don't know but the Oz guys do post I believe, so check it out.

Im lookin to take mine back too (not for a couple of years though) and have spoken with these folks a few times. Seem really helpful.
I think im looking at about £3000 door to door (London to Adelaide)

How long have you had the car? I think if its a certain age you have to be able to prove you have owned it for over a year before you will get shipping approval.
I have a load of info on this if ya wanna contact me via profile I can dig out where I got it and forward it on....
