Negative comments when driving a TVR

I get the general impression that people tend to get more positive comments than negative ones when driving around in their TVR. My impression is that I have far more negative than positive and although I know I shouldn't let it get to me, it really does p:censored:s me off!

So from now on, if it's OK with you lot, I'm going to collect all the comments I receive in this thread so I can:

My advice - if you're at all sensitive buy a Coupe.

Good point, I suppose we take our choice, but I think UKBob summed it up well in the thread zippee mentioned:

It just wears you down a bit, but I figured the wit of PHers could help me turn things in my favour - though I'll want plenty of empty road in front of my in case things turn nasty and I didn't have that today.

And he wasn't even driving, just set on the left of his two mates (probably wouldn't have said anything if he'd been on his own) so an even better opportunity to criticise, but by the time words were forthcoming it was too late.

Maybe its because I didn't get to scream away leaving them with a boom of V8 and a pungent whiff of Optimax I feel robbed of my chance to get closure on this occasion.

If you're keeping count....
1 positive, 1 negative today.

The positive one was from a group of young (alas I think too young) blonde horse riders as I idled past them - "Nice car mate.." etc.... Pleased.

The negative from the sad t**t in the MR2 in front of me - floors it in an attempt to prove how manly he/his car is. In these situations, I always think of the Bible... "Thou shalt not tempt the lord". Anyway, he sees my smiling face in the mirror... does receiving "the bird" count as a negative comment?

I can't remember getting any negative comments in over 2 years and I don't think it would bother me that much anyway.
Mind you, it's nice down here in the SW.

I've been spat at by the driver of a Rollinson mini bus, which was nice.

Have had a few negative comments but many more positives. The best negative was a lad in the center of Leeds one saturday night who staggered over to my car and said, "I know why you're smiling, you c**t." Made me smile even more.

Have any of you TVR owning chaps ever received negative comments from female onlookers (with regards to your car and not your looks!)? It strikes me that most, if not all, the bitchy comments are spouted from the mouths of the testosterone ladened gender. It's just a car for heaven's sake, why all the vindictiveness, pettiness and jealousy?

Apart from that, in three years of ownership all comments have been positive.

Well I was reving it up in a narrow street to attract a friends attention. Obviously not everyone enjoys the sound of a SEAC exhaust
