Just wanted to give this small family run business a :thumbup:.
They've been in operation for thirty years and have developed a reputation for fine workmanship. If Ferraris' go their way and my mate entrusts his £100,000 993 turbo to them, then I was happy to leave the Griff in their hands. I guess a six week waitng list also says something good.
Work required:
1- front end respray (stone chipped), minus bonnet
2- bootlid respray (a couple of scratches a bit deeper than perhaps I could polish out)
3- small area of stress cracking to the back-end and behind a rear wheel arch (repair and respray)
4- respray mirrors (stone chipped).
Bill: £650 plus VAT.
It was nice to receive the car fully polished for my inspection rather than just to be handed back the keys after surrendering the lolly.
It was also nice to be able to chat about the procedures involved etc. They'd used more than 3/4 litre of Moonraker Black and over a litre of lacquer from a paint system called Standox; I think the lacquer was £140/litre. Combine that with 5 days graft and I can see how I've probably got good value.
To those behind the trigger of a DeVilbis, you have my respect.
