Recommendations plse for hi pressure, latest / imminent Ethanol rated SS braided fuel line to replace all my existing Griff rubber items

What sizes will I need and recommended places to buy from

Most owners tend to steer clear of the stainless over braided stuff because toy can't see what's going on with the rubber hose inside.

Exactly this the braiding adds nothing but stops you seeing how you fuel lines are holding up.

A mate nearly lost his car to these with the hose being utterly knackered inside a shiney braid allowing a nice spay of fuel directly on to hs exhaust.

I know somebody who bought a car with an RV8 running on pretty carbs supplied by shiny stainless braided hoses and anodized fittings. It always smelt of petrol, but that's carbs for you. One day the leak got bad enough that he could see fuel dripping from the braided hoses. On inspection, there wasn't a single connection out of the dozen or so around the engine bay that had been made properly. One of the ends was literally cut off at 45 degrees and held loosely against the spigot by a clamp over the braiding.

Gates Barricade used to set the standard for fuel lines. They're still well regarded, although they got some notoriety a few years ago after a batch of their hoses was widely reported as failing within a year of being installed. But these days I think teflon or nylon are the only sensible choice for fuel lines.

Or Codan R9 which now replaces R6.

I won't touch gates stuff anymore, it's not the company of old.
I'd just leave the copper there, you can replace it and take it further into the engine bay for ease of hose changes if you want.

thanks guys for input......the reason for being pushed down the armoured route is because of never ending mice problems..

Both rural and town - I even have them visit me in the sitting room, or annoy me in roof space above bedroom!!

By choice I would use black rubber - I am not looking to dress things up, most will be underneath - not looked in engine bay

I had a line fail and spray fuel all over tailpipes, complete with 'steaming' fuel!'

Long time ago Instructed Melton TVR specialist at the time to replace 'Every single fuel flexi with braided' due to mouse problems - Collected car ...'Replaced fuel lines, couldnt find braided so used rubber, ..oh and couldnt get at engine bay ones so left those'..........

Well, its split again near tailpipes (coming out of tank) - I love my Griff and dont know what to do with all the mixed advice and fact that it seems u cant trust either the part supplier or 'specialist' - Hence now trying to source myself and be involved with the job.

Very much open to suggestions as about to embark on the jobs, hopefully with the help of a kind volunteer PH member as my health precludes me from such jobs lately

Also looking to do same with brake flexis....so your comments are alarming - there are replacement s steel braided brake flexi kits on offer

The bottom line is you need to use a quality hose, most people dont and i would include so called specialists in that comment.
Buying some random hose on ebay isnt to be trusted in my opinion as most of it is junk and thats where the problem lies.
If you want to persue stainless braided etc maybe find a trusted motorsport supplier and have a chat about the ptfe lined stuff.

Not just ebay. last weekend I replaced the fuel lines that hadn't even been on 12 months it was leaking and perished. I'd bought it from a well know European car spares place it was branded as a jewel originating in an oyster rhyming with Earl.
