Wheel wobble puzzle

Had a pair of new tyres fitted to the front yesterday.
On my way home at 70mph, there was a pronounced vibration through the steering wheel. Thinking it was just a matter of returning for a re-balance, I called the dealer and arranged to return in the next couple of days.
This morning, it was less pronounced, reducing even more as the miles went on until it is now barely discernable. Any ideas?

I always understood that new tyres were better left unbalanced untill the've done a few hundred miles...

maybe the tyre had been stored in such a way that it had temporarily deformed.
Possible, I suppose. But if that were the case, then surely balancing the wheel when initially fitted would have compensated for any deformity and the wobble would get worse as it became round again.
2Munkys said:You might have hit the nail etc - the dealer had inflated them to 30psi (I discovered this when I got home, and reduced the pressure to the correct 22psi.
Could be that the bead is still finding its seat; were they over inflated by the fitter and then reduced to the correct pressure?
I'd still get 'em in for that check though.
