What are everyone's opinions regarding the V8 Marcos?
I've always liked the shape of them, and have looked at them in comparison to either a Griff or a Chim...
However I am dissapointed by the empty, uninhabited zone that is the Marcos forum. Especially when compared to the lively TVR forums...
Has anyone driven both ?
What are they like in general ?
Do Marcos owners talk.....?

Haven't you bought a Griff/chim/V8S yet??!!!
AFAIK in the price range of the above TVRs any comparable Marcos will have a standard 3.5, 3.9 or possibly 4.0 litre engine. The TVRs of course have fully rebuilt and somewhat enhanced units, another step removed from the kit car image.
Marcos - you either love em or hate em. I quite like em... It's a very laid back driving position, not for everybody.

Me too (and I rather like the styling too). If I was in the market with new TVR money, I'd definitely give the TSO a test drive. Sorry, can't offer any help on the older Marcos/Griffmaera comparison other than to say, [/blinkerson]when you have perfection (in the shape of a Griff/Chim), why even look elsewhere.[/blinkersoff]
There aren't as many Marcos' around, so there are fewer people to post.
Simple as that, I'd say. Having driven the TSO, it's streets better than my Griff in the handling department. Not quite as good on the sound, but they're working on that.

A couple of guys from TVR have migrated that way over a period of time, one of them being Damien McTaggert. I don't know how much input he had in the styling of the TSO but it does bear remarkable similarities with some earlier TVR designs which never quite made it through to production.

Personally I prefer the old bug shaped marcos mantis thingy or whatever to the newer TSO. As mentioned by bosscerbera they did that with around 500bhp! And it did have some decent race pedigree.
TSO is too TVR of ten years ago for me, and I'm one of those who likes what TVR are doing now.
Fair play to you though if you like the TSO, looks like it's been designed specifically to pick up the old-school TVR buyer, especially with the V8 etc. but I can't be doing with it's central instruments (a cheapskate attempt to keep lhd/rhd costs down I guess?) and I reckon you lot should give the new tvrs another look.
The t350, tamora and tusc are all stunners and great to drive.

I like Muse. As someone else said, "Muse is Radiohead now that Radiohead aren't interested in being Radiohead any more". Which is exactly how I feel about TVR at the moment.
I love my Chimaera 500 and there simple isn't anything in the current TVR line-up that can replace it.
(Although I might be swayed by a Saggy if I could trust the S6)
