Hi all,

I have a strange issue with the aralrm / Immobiliser on my pre-cat Griffith. My key fob is no longer working. I changed the battery in the fob and the red light is working on the fob but it's not engaging with the car, not opening / locking the doors and not witching off the alarm / Immobiliser. Has anyone had an issue like this before?

When I went to start the car yesterday, the battery was flat and car didn't start. As such the alarm / Immobiliser was activated and now I can't turn it off as the fob isn't working. I charged the battery in the car overnight but unfortunately no joy this morning.

Going by the stickers on the window it is a TOAD alarm system and another sticker saying "This vehicle is protected by The Immobiliser"

If anyone has had a similar issue it would be great to hear from you.

Thanks
Johnny

I'm not known for being flash with my money but one thing I did splash out on when I had my Griff was a decent, modern alarm/immobiliser.

Best money ever spent, no more will it, won't it wink

Thanks, that seems sensible alright. I'm in Ireland so will talk to an auto electrician tomorrow. Replacement of entire system may be the best option.

Just wanted to update. I disconnected and reconnected the battery, and the key fob is now back working. Looks like it just needed a reset.
