So the October Sprint featured S with a 5.7 LS6 fitted is on eBay at the moment. Nothing to do with me. Easy to find using the search function.

Ends tomorrow - Sat 4Nov.

Given some of the prices S's have gone for in the last 12-months this could be a bargain or a record biglaugh

nie car, enginebay looks quite tidy....but suspensionwise the car looks awfull:

it sits far too high, the gap between wing and tyre is way too much.looks totaly un-proportioned.

so again a failed conversion.....somebody invested thousands of pound and finally the basics arent ok.

"thats not a problem, you just need different coils or lowering the platforms on the coilover"...if it would be that easy, it would have been done!!

i guess the problem is: if the suspension would sit lower, the complete drivertrain would be in risk to touch the ground.

and check for the clutch master cylinder: so close to the exhaust manifold, no heatshield, no protection.
the cooling overflow bottle: missing overflow-pipe on cap...and the bottle is from china....

has this car ever been used or does it get sold as "here you have a nice conversion, but the teething-problems need to be sorted by YOU"
judjing by the colour of the exhaust manfolds, this car was never driven the "right" way, nor for longer distances

The basics look fine to me. The ride height is approximately standard. It's common to set the suspension too low. It looks all motorsporty but screws up the suspension geometry and handling.

The drive train spec suggests it should cope with that power but there isn't enough information about the suspension and brakes to know whether it's going to handle OK. Mine has substantially uprated trailing arms and half shafts which took a lot of flex out under power, and the suspension settings need to be way different to standard to balance the power. The load on the brakes depends how it's used, but a powerful car driven slowly can be harder on the brakes than one that's driven quickly, if the driver likes to 'point and squirt'.

The engine bay is messy, but that's not uncommon with engine conversions. Nothing in the engine bay pictures looks like a definite problem. I'm not a fan of that exhaust layout but it would probably be the only way to avoid chopping chassis rails. My biggest concern (other than how well it handles under power) would be the position of the gear shift. It looks uncomfortably high and too far back. A forward linkage would have worked far better IMO - but I'm not the one doing it. The fact an extensive conversion is being sold so soon after completion does make me worried that the owner was disappointed. The chassis, bodywork and interior all look nice. If the handling isn't too vicious I think it would be an enjoyable car to own and drive.

In fairness it was a garage who built / finished the car not a private owner so I can see why it is being sold 'so quickly'.

I agree that the suspension looks factory height.

Sold for just over £12k. Seems a lot of car for the money
