S Club Tour 2023 - Done
Discussion
Hello All.
Just returned from Fasttrack Tours 2023 edition of the S Club Tour. This year we were let loose to Luxembourg before vamos to the Vosges and back again. Having to have had withdraw on the eve of last year's tour it was a privilege to be out on the roads again.
This all started last Thursday and unfortunately the tourist tax weren't acknowledged and the French and Luxembourg Governments sent in some rain
Once the accounts were double checked, sunshine and dry was the order of the days.
Great routes were wittled together by FTT with some fairly acceptable scenery either side of the black stuff. A pleasent surprise on Sunday were the number of cafes / restaurants etc .. open during the day along the route. Which is not the norm for France!
The hotel in Luxembourg was, in my humble opinion, the pick of a very nice bunch with the added bonus of two nights there.
The roads were a great mix of twisties and open flowing and very well surfaced. With the exception of one narrow descent that was very tight, twisty, off camber, rutted and a real joy [in isolation].
Other than one blown fuse and some dodgey wheel spacers, I don't think there were any mechanical issues with the cars.
Hotel drinks [in the evening] were cold. The food very acceptable.
For all you new to the marque & those returning to the fold (especially to an S) I reccommend you check out the driving tours on offer by Fasttrack Tours. They are easy to find through your chosen search engine. Their packages I think are great value. Routes are provided for use on a satnav and a concise itinerary. On the S Club Tour there is a daily tale of 'The Adventures of Colin' which will one day be made into a book to rival Churchill's Diaries.
Thanks again to FTT for another cracking and all to brief tour. It was great to catch up with those I've met before and meet those on the tour for the first time even if I was deaf
I'll be putting my name down for next year.
