Esso, feel that they are out of step with the Industry norm and are therefore set to start adding up to 5% Ethanol to Supreme 99+ Super unleaded petrol ,from September 2023.
At the moment Esso 99+ supplied from from their own terminals in the South East and Midlands of England are Ethanol free ( though marked as E5 ,for legal reasons).
I really do believe that Esso are making a huge marketing mistake.
At the moment, they are the go to fuel for all Classic, Vintage and most Aston- Martin cars.
Esso, Ethanol free fuel is specifically suggested by many independent Aston Martin specialists, even for new or nearly new cars!

Please can I humbly suggest that we All email Esso about this , just when other companies are trying to muscle in on Ethanol free for Classics!

Interested parties might consider contacting Esso with their thoughts!
This is indeed sad but I think we need to get used to the idea that fuel without ethanol will eventually disappear. Even E5 will go once the majority of cars on the road don't need it. (Think leaded 4 star!). We are a very very small minority that I am sure Esso really doesn't need to cater for, nor any other supplier for that matter. Think how many classics and Astons you see on the road? Virtually none compared to all the newer cars. I guess looking forward, making the necessary changes to the cars for them to be compatible may be the only answer long term. I run a number of older cars and getting them to run properly on the available fuel is getting harder and harder. Just the octane rating causes issues let alone the lack of lead, increase in ethanol, etc!!!

" Esso,the Petrol that's fuels Bond!"
I can't believe Esso can be so blind to the Marketing opportunities!
TwinKam has sent a truly wonderful email to Esso.
I encourage everyone to message them ,to stop this completely unnecessary and silly change .
