Hi

Anyone used PPF successfully on their TVR?

I got a quote for front end on my Griff, seems a couple of grand, or nose cone for a few hundred.

Sounds a nice idea? Should stop the chips?

I have a job driving cars around tracks and often on airport runways.
The cars that are protected by either a wrap or indeed clear film over paint have far less stone chip damage. Others look peppered.
Windscreens often crack and all have stone chips from following/ overtaking slower cars except the ones with a film on them.

If I had a front end respray I’d definitely look to protect it with such a product.
My car was repainted over 12 years ago and suffers from stone chip damage. Needs re doing?

I had paintshield put on my Tuscan after an S&D front end respray , it was OK for 5 years then started to look opaque and it didn't stop larger stones, so I took it off. It came off OK without damaging the paint. I had a "spare" front end sprayed at the same time without paintshield which is on the car now . I think I would save my money for another respray next time.

Also, fixing paint chips is pretty straightforward if you look into how it’s done.

Had this dilemma many years ago after front end repaint. I got a trimmer friend to help me make this about 15 years ago. On and off in a minute. It also protects the fairings and indicators.

Historically it had to finish as a line across the top of the arch, which was a bit obvious. Things have moved on a lot, so are they able to now put a single piece from door front to door front all the way round the front? Single piece for bonnet as well?
