I’m sitting in a leather seat.. in front of me is a veneered wooden dash.. full of dials… a leather steering wheel is in my hands… I can look up and see the sky.. I can smell fresh air.. and maybe a bit of overfuelling… also in front of me is a five litre V8 motor… a tad over 360 bhp.. the sound of the tick over is quiet… deceivingly so.. blip the throttle and a hint of the noise to come is apparent.. and a slight rocking of the car… it wants it… slide it in to first gear…. Build a few revs up.. hear the noise rise… then… floor it and slip the clutch… the noise is epic and 60 comes up in around 3.8 seconds… you are now alive.. welcome to the world of TVR biggrin

You had me & fooled me i thought the last word would be Aston Martin.
Enjoy sunny for a few more days.
Check the Blackpool thunder web site & pay homage to Trevor.

May 14th 2023 marks 100 years since the birth of TVR founder Trevor Wilkinson.

To mark the occasion, Blackpool Thunder Car Club is holding The Trevor Wilkinson Centenary TVR Drive It Day, where Blackpool Thunder members and TVR owners will be hitting the roads and driving their cars to honour the memory of TVR’s founder.

Very nice intro smile

Although pretty sure my 5.0L doesn't make 360bhp!

I can't make Blackpool but there is also a TVR gathering at Brooklands the week before which I will be at.

I had a 5.1 JE Developments Rover V8 in a Westfield, dry sumped, solid lifters, Jenvey throttle bodies, big valve head, high lift cams, engine cost over £10 back in 2004, dyno print out showed 358bhp, no way a 500 engine in a TVR produced 360bhp

Does it matter - not a jot, its still a wonderful engine

Took the cerbera to work today. Resisted those urging a race, but enjoyed the many roundabouts, the car is so planted around them, embaressed many wink

It's so much quieter than the MX-5 at motorway speeds... was a delight to drive in...

I had a nice tootle in the Chim in sunshine with the roof off, fresh fish and Rufford new potatoes at Lytham then on to supermarket at St.Annes and back along the seafront, very pleasant way to spend a morning.
Then working hard planting the rest of my spuds this afternoon , time for a pint now in the summerhouse before I start cooking drink
