Fabulous looking cars that have recently come on to my radar.
I think the V6 vs V8 argument will always divide opinions but I'd be happy enough with a V6, they still sound epic.

I posted on the original thread linked above and did indeed by a V8S in the end, that was a year ago and as much as I still admire TVR, the relatively hassle free Jag ownership has been great, much like the Tam it gets positive comments, looks and sounds great, although I am planning an after-market exhaust just to enhance the sound a wee bit smile

Also, having watched the Jag market for the last 18 months, prices are definitely on the lower side at present, I paid £39k for mine and would be lucky to get £36k for it today, so a good time to buy!

They look good those F type R cars, but way more weight (1650kg) then a Griffith (1080kg)

so I wonder also how they drive/feel, also compared to say a MB AMG GTC or R, those are 100kg lighter (a GT-R at least)then the Jag and have its engine further behind the front wheels I believe, but are also more pricy sadly.

I know a few pro drivers who regilarly work on Haguar launch evrnts and Nordic ice driving events - without exception theg all say the V6S is the best all round car, epic sound and by far and away the best handling / performance balance

In the real world the weight of these cars makes little difference as they will all outperform any TVR on a British B road. What they gain in weight, they’ve gained in stability, agility and composure with active suspension. There’s simply no comparison.

true. but depends on what you want from a car. ground covering performance or feel?
I could see the F-Type and similar being great for long euro tours, less so for shorter UK trips.

I have both, a Griffith 500 and a V8S. I can't decide which to keep, completely different..

Thanks for the links and the responses - the next step is a test drive tomorrow to see if the Type R is as good as the reviews - I planning to do the North Coast 500 in Sept - so it will either be the Griffith or Jaguar - will post pictures either way . Cheers

I'm also looking at XKRs. I'm seriously thinking about about replacing the Chim with a XKR Convertible. I've had a lot of fun in the TVR but it is getting used less and less (190 Miles this year!) so after 14 years of it time for a more refined change with all the power but some creature comforts.

Worth considering a Lotus Evora?

I looked at one when I moved on from my t350. Fun but, and this is odd having come from a 134db 350, it was just too shouty and look at me. It also felt heavy to drive and more of a muscle car than a sports car.
I'd also have wanted a cab and the boot in that is pathetic.
Went merc in the end, AMG GTS to start and now onto a GTC Cab.
Now that is a German TVR. Absolute weapon and being a true full AMG it is incredibly playful and fun to drive but with comfort and reliability added in.
If ever you're around st neots (Cambs/Beds) if happily take you out in mine

Looks really nice - I prefer them in subtle colours like yours.
