Yes, there were a number of sites proposed, near Blackpool Airport on the old Arvin Meritor exhaust site , alongside Blackpool Technology College and Lancaster. Unfortunately Blackpool Council and the Labour Government did not provide any financial support to Smolenski and it came to nothing.

There was also speculation of TVR going to Turin.
