I can’t find anyone who sells the cable that runs the fans and sets the temp for the car. Xparts say they won’t make it again, racedirect don’t sell it, part number is ME0607, ribbon cable 26 way, is the name. I heard it’s a old computer part, has anyone managed to find one???

Do you have a picture of the cable with connectors? most I've come across in computers are straight connected and I would imagine the block could be cut down if needed. You also used to be able to prise them apart and the connector cut the contacts so you may be able to get a longer one for say a drive which I think is 40 way strip it down to 26 way and just clamp on your connectors if they're still good.

It’s the one on the left with the black tape, someone has already had a go at fixing it. It still works but doesn’t light most of the lights on the dial up, just trying to make the car perfect

have 26 way ribbon cable at about £2 per meter. Have quite a range of connectors too.

And it won't help if you do, because it doesn't come with any connectors on the ends! You need to Google 26 way ribbon cable. You may need to know the length and thickness, and then you will get cable with connectors. You then need to compare the connectors, or someone on here with knowledge needs to post what connectors you need.

Here is an example. The question is - are the connectors suitable, and is the thickness, assuming that matters?

Most of those connectors are easy enough to re fit you can normally (Unless they've hardened and gone brittle) dismantle them and re use them. Obviously check the orientation that they're fitted first. If the cable looks to be in good condition you may find it's the contacts that have failed or corroded. You may get things working with a spray of switch cleaner.

Edit to add the other loose cables just look to be 25way D-Sub connectors as used on serial ports if they're the same.

The ones in the middle look like standard metal shell D-sub connectors.

If those aren't the ones you mean you need to share a close picture of the housing from the back and front.

You'll need to be extra careful with the pinouts of your new cable if its a generic type instead of a TVR specific part, in your picture there looks to be a crossover. Simple enough to bell them out with a multimeter though.

I wanted to change this cable (heater switch to RAS) having changed the other 4, as they were readily available (keeping the old ones for spares). IMHO this is a technical cable that as we already the ribbon cable in the house (Rasberry Pi stuff my son was doing a while back) and next time I have the dash off I will mimic the ends (buy the correct IDC ends for). OP if you have the cable off the car post pictures of it (reasonably close up of the ends) and it should be identifiable. The cable was 7.00 for 7mtrs and the crimp tool was 14.99, ends would be a couple of pounds for 5 (my son tells me). A@
