I have just purchased a Tuscan it’s been de-catted with Act bypass pipes and has LOUD cans from racetech. I spend a lot of time driving on motorways mostly the M25. It’s only a matter of time before I get unwanted attention from the men in blue.

My last Tuscan was de-catted with standard cans and it was ok. Both is too much for me.

New standard cans are on a long lead time and new catalytic converters seem to be all sports models. I have rung all the usual suspects and cannot source any used cats or cans.

Does anyone have some standard cans and or catalysts sitting at the back of the garage they are willing to sell?

I yes PM please

Why don't you get a custom exhaust made? You'll likely get one cheaper and more quickly than a new one. You can also choose the amount of noise you'd like from it

Here's one I got made for an old car of mine for £240. Not a TVR granted, but exhaust pipe is just bent, welded metal

They are on holiday at the moment looking on their site they only seems to stock stainless cans. I want carbon fibre. The usual suppliers are saying 2-3 weeks to build new cans. In the current climate I expect that time to actually increase probably significantly. I buy a lot of materials and delivery times are rarely achieved at the moment.

The car is almost unusable, I’ve had it over a week and cannot really use it. A quick fix would be to find some standard cans or put the catalysts back in.

I’ve just typed ‘TVR Tuscan cans’ in to eBay and 3 carbon sets popped straight up.

I’m fairly sure the cans are the main contributor to the noise so you can then see whether it’s worth sorting the cats out.

ACT do a lot of Carbon Fibre products, although not exhausts it's true. And didn't you realise how noisy when you bought it?

How about Racetech quietr cans?
https://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/car-parts/wheels-...

Or maybe speak to the last owner and see if he has the originals?

I bought the car out in the sticks, the oil was cold so had to keep the revs down. I was really only interested in how well it drove. That combined with how rarely they come up for sale, I was always walking away with the car. It’s ok when driving on small roads but it’s really loud at motorway speeds.

I’ve managed to source some cans Blackpool for delivery this week🥳. At a very good price 🥳🥳

Just need some cat's now

I know how you feel.

When I part-exchanged my Chimaera for a Tuscan a few years ago, one of the first things I did was change the Blueflame cans over to standard. Fortunately the original cans were in the boot.

Not only did mine sound loud and anti-social but they also looked pretty naff too. However the rest of the car was so good, I just viewed swapping the cans over as being nothing more than a temporary inconvenience.

The Blueflames were then binned.

You can see the noisy cans in this photo of the swap over day at Tony Gilbert’s.

Agreed the blue flames never floated my boat, I prefer the look of the originals

I know how you feel too Lee - motorways speeds in mine are not enjoyable for medium/long distances due to the noise.

However I do love the way mine look.

I have some standard cans to put on for Cadwell Park next month to make sure I meet the noise requirements.

Agreed that is a good looking car, not normally a fan of stainless can but yours look good.

I'm in Lewisham (inside ULEZ unfortunatley).

I think I have some carbon cans in the garage - defo got some Sag ones - but not sure if I have carbon ones or if they are sleeved or non-sleeved. Hve you tried the bike shops? A slightly short can with an extra bit of pipe might be readily available.

I also have various spare CATs (ceramic coated) but don't know what the flange sizes are.

Pop me an email and we'll see if we can sort something out.

I wouldn't go back to cats due to the temperature issues with them. Standard cans and decats is not that loud.

I'm decatted and have Powertech cans. I'm a bit loud.

Still it's good when you drive down to Spain, as you don't have to hold a conversation with your wife between Service Stations.

Even sport cats will make a noticeable reduction in noise and won't be as restrictive as STD cats.

Two new powertech standard spec can turned up over the weekend. Dan Taylor has done some minor fettling for me today. Just picked the car up it’s loud but not LOUD.
Today was the the first time I opened it up.
It is much better. I’ll leave the cats out for the moment.
Waiting for my new wheels and tyres to turn up and Trevor 2 will be close to sorted.
