Mark III TVR Tuscan (Convertible) wiring schematics
Discussion
I own a Mark III TVR Tuscan, often called the convertible. Unfortunately, for personal reasons I am reluctantly putting the car up for sale. To do this I want to make sure the car is as good mechanically as it can be. One problem we cannot seem to rectify is a problem with the passenger door. The window hangs half open and when closing using the panel buttons inside, it shuts, then immediately opens, which pops the door open, not a useful feature on the M5 in the rain!
I've already downloaded the TVR Tuscan Electrical information booklet and the drawings in the back of this document are dated around the year 2000, which pre-dates the Mark III.
The car is currently with an auto electician who is struggling to find the problem. Would any person on this forum have any wiring diagrams or schematics for the Mark III Tuscan they would be willing to share.

Sorry to hear you’re having to sell.
Try resetting the door ecu as per post two:

Or try swapping the modules between driver and passenger door to see if the ecu needs replacing.

Hi Porterpainter
Yes, very hard decision to sell a beautiful car. I'm afraid we've tried the fixes you mentioned. I had a chat with Jason at str8six and he told me exactly the same. We've found the ECU's are working fine, so no problem here. My auto-electrician suspects an earth wire has droped off or is loose, without knowing what to look for it's a bit like a needle in a haystack.

Have you taken the door card off and looked at the condition of the encoder?

There is also a link on that thread to Paul Smith who seems to be an expert in TVR electrics.

I will suggest the Tamora diagrams with the Tuscan (the later car dash switches, with early car door loom as it uses a different encoder voltage wise), But this job is one allen key to remove the door to access the door plug, 3 screws to remove the door card and few seconds to remove the mirror glass and maybe the 3 screws to check the microswitch in the door post and your electrician should be able to check/test everything. Wet under mirror button was my issue (painter had left them off).

I'm inclined to suspect a damaged cable through the door. The way Paul Smiths window encoder positioning works on vert is by counting the number teeth movements on the gear ... that's why it always screws up if the door doesn't close properly and you start getting the orange flashing on the door knob . The simple fix to reset the position is to arm the car with the door closed and let the window close fully , but I think your problem is caused by a fault . Since you've owned the car a while, you'll already know that both windows need to drop slightly to open the door for a closed window to clear the "A" frame.
And it's Tuscan Convertible not a MKIII (that's a MKII Targa with a Vert curvy dash )
You will have noticed the original supplied handbook is for a Tuscan Mk2 Targa since TVR never produced a convertible or a wavey dash Targa handbook , that's why Phil Tudhope and me produced the convertible cabin controls handbook , so you've next to no chance of a wiring diagram unless (heath has one) ???

Unfortunately the links no longer work... I'm sure I've got the .pdf somewhere... PM me and I'll try and mail it, unless someone can stage it somewhere.

If anyone is interested, I wrote an 'Owners Handbook' for the round dial dash. Well, it developed into a Cabin Controls Handbook. I did this because the Owner's Handbook with the car was for the standard Mk 2 Tuscan dash and controls which are totally different to teh ones in my car.
The 2-dial dash is basically the same as in the Tamora, T-350 and Sagaris, though some of the LCD screens and the warning codes are a bit different.
You can download a copy of the handbook from here :

If anyone wants a copy of the Tuscan Convertible cabin controls handbook then please send me a message with your e-mail address.
b.t.w. I wrote this handbook, it wasn't co-authored by anyone else !
Phil.
I accept you wrote it Phil and it is excellent, but if I remember correctly you required some advice on some controls especially the log files .b.t.w. I wrote this handbook, it wasn't co-authored by anyone else !

Hey, let's all resurrect an old thread so we can argue about who wrote/contributed what to an unofficial handbook to a car that we cannot even agree the name of.......
Shall we resurrect the old thread about how many of these were built and argue about that too?
No need to argue about the number built, 'cos I have all the Customer Specification Sheets (including those built for stock and those unfinished/never started) . Shall we resurrect the old thread about how many of these were built and argue about that too?
