Hi...I have just(ish) started work on my 1994 Griffith 500 project. It was standing with a broken rear window for 12 years so interior is scrap and electics were all out. After a few weeks of cleaning every electrical connection I could and replacing fuel system front to back everthing seemed to be working (apart from the doormirrors) and there was a spark so I spun the engine with a drill under the dizzy and she ran beautifully for a couple of minutes..I changed the oil and filter and the fuel pump (brand new) wouldnt fire...that was a few weeks ago..I have checked every fuse and relay. Fuel pump spins over fine when you bridge the relay...now its stopped cranking as well and I suspect the old Gemini 2339 immobilser. Next step, I think, is to remove the immobilser...or change it for a new one. I found a wiring diagram in German for it online
but in true TVR fashion it doesnt match the colours in my loom! Any thoughts? Andy

Looks like they are now called AVS Gemini. Your alarm is'nt listed but they may be able to help.

Hi Andy
You have likely not had much response because as a first time poster we can not be confident to pass out info that compromises the security of our vehicles.
Either post some photos of your Horror story car or send them directly to me and I will try and help you.

Thank you all the help so far.

Karl from TVR UK has been helping me out and will be assisting with one of his excellent immobilsers in due course....but the car needs to run first! Karl has talked me through some wirigg checks and there is no earth coming from the ECU to fire the fuel pump relay......we suspect an ECU fault...I don't suppose anyone has a spare to swap out to check before I start looking elsewhere...please.

If your handy with the multimeter you can almost work out which wire does which.
They all follow the same basic wiring.
Without going into too much detail

Ignition power
Permanent power
Grounds
Central locking triggers
Immobiliser cuts
Indicator light triggers

And so on.

The image you have posted doesn't show an immobiliser, it's a basic Gemini alarm, very basic

The grey relay you are holding controls the central locking

It will take any electrician 2 minutes to bypass the Gemini alarm once you've proven you're the owner of the vehicle

  • UPDATE**
For the benefit of anyone looking at this thread in the future there were two problems:
1) The immobilser was working intermittantly. Now bipassed pending a new one c/o Karl Baker recommended above!
2) The lack of earth being switched to the fuel relay was an ECU fault. The existing ECU could not be fixed as the main processor had blown and a relacement could not be found by the repair company. I bought another 14CUX on ebay for a couple of hundred quid and problem sorted.
