Not bad Hughsie - But SLK320 - Wo there boy!

But great drift pic www.vmax15000bhp.com/images/vmax8/TVR_Chimaera_DSC_0085.jpg did you hold it! Tape a must.

Have to find out when next one is!

We should be able to get 180? Whitey / Stu / Phil, etc.

After the project I'll be a little tight, care to give me a privileged discount?

I'll buy that for a dollar!

Not bad! I think I'll be looking at more around 250mph+ - is the run-off area big enough to slow down? Or will I need a chute???

Jelly, your yank tank will rip my chassis in two, you can tow me HOME!

TVR wasnt here then Fella, was a great laugh in the SLK as well, its not just top end fella !!

Should crack 160 next time as the spark was degrading to the point it wasnt revving through 5500rpm on the day due to heat and crap leads...

Sadly not ran out of revs and couldnt pull it through the bend, Smokey though !!

1st run bonnet popped open at 155mph, so i taped it down for the rest of the day !!

Craigs NOS beast will be looking at around 600 horses at the wheels, factoring that in, we could very easily see a 200+ mph run from him...

I think if Jelly gets his tuned just right, his LS1 could produce max speeds of around 170-180... but I'm not too sure about the chims drag co-ef... soft-tops and all that

Nos will help, did 171 in daves std cerb last Vmax, would NOS get him over 200 at Brunters though ??

And still safely stop ??

at brinters i'd see him in the low to mids 170's...

Jelly, what gearing are you running?

* Whats your rpm cut-off?
* Whats your gear ratios and final drive ratio?
* Whats your rear wheel tyre height and width?
* Whats your cars weight to the nearest 100lb?
* Whats your weight, roughly

Also, what oil and filter will you run on the day?

I could give you a calculated max speed, also taking into account a drag co-ef of 0.3 - 0.5

Knowing Craig - he's running direct port, and with his new stout engine setup, and his diffuser modifications (front and rear) also his 19/11J rears not mentioning BIGGER exhaust ports and collector headers, I dont doubt for one second he'll get there, slowing down is another issue altogether!

Ouch!!!

Could we possibly create an anti-velocity time/space stabilisation field in the proximity of this 'hill'!???

Not my party mate.. but given that it's heavily oversubscribed I doubt you've got a hope of getting a discount...

Huge width tyres will slow you down not make you faster!

I have been using a TR web page for my speeds on TR and diameter of my 245/45x16 rears is same as my race Yoko32's 205/60 x15 but my top end at say 6800 revs (if I put the limit here - won't be higher an std is 6600 for Z06 as you get into problems with valve bounce over this and need tougher springs - and not really into that).

If Hughsie is showing high 150's at less than 6k revs then maybe my figure are wrong.

1.Rpm will be max of 6700 or 6800 not sure yet (Wortec)
2.5th is 0.82 in TKO instead of 0.80 for replaced t5, final drive is std late Chim 3.45
3.Tyre std 500 spec (245/45x16)
4.Weight 2447lbs (race battery in yesterday 7-8kg 5.less -I am that sad - even more on TR!)

Obviously, but remember high speed stability comes with distributed load and stable friction on land, you could run on bicycle tyres - if you want to be 'gone with the wind'... unless you make up for it with SEVERE body alterations!

The calculator takes all the figures into account... I'll put up a few numbers later

Cool - might put a bigger front spoiler on. Get Bloody float at very high speeds - knock one up for the occasion. Lots of Gaff tape!

Excellent! I would suggest, get a front and rear diffuser made up! Speak to Carbon Al, he did Craigs.

The thing is, a high-pressure bucket builds up at the front of the car as your speed increases, there is a slow stream of air that literally 'clings' to your bodywork and builds up as you build speed, this brings drag into the equation and sometimes can exponentially grow to levels which prevent you from getting her further up the speedometer unless you shift another few hundred horses through her. Having some NACA ducts in the right places will help greatly, normally the ideal places to place NACA ducts is where there is a great surface, ie the bonnet or the roof... with NACA ducts the slow air is speeded up by the help of vortexes taking place on the cuts along the duct and a reversed wing at the rear of the duct will keep high-pressure air from venting in... these ducts and diffusers might not sound like they would make much a difference, and in all cases will increase the drag-co-eff, but by preventing the slow-stream from building up, you reduce the exponential growth of this natural air movement and keep the high-pressure bucket down to an acceptable level.
Next time you see a 747 jet, look underneath, you will see a few NACA ducts, although in the jets case they're predominantly used for the air-con systems, but at the same time they help in aerodynamics....

Carbon Al is the master in this area, the guy has worked on multi-million pound projects involving high-speed yachts etc and can recommend exactly where and how the body modifications should be made, its well worth it bud!
