Ignition problem with Tuscan S

Hi Guys

I have 3 1/2 weeks ago picked up my brand new MKII Tuscan S. Its a fantastic car and looks great, however since u have had it i have had two occasions when I have had to have the car recovered and taken to the TVR dealer.

What happended was when i got into the car and went to start it with the ignition button NOTHING happened...not even a green light around the ignition button and no diagnostics check.

I have been told that there was a problem the first time with the indicator PCB.

Has anybody else come across this problem and have you any ideas how to stop it...

Hi Charlie,
I have not had this problem personally but was warned of it by my dealer. There is occasionally a conflict with the indicator cancelling circuit and the starter. If it occurs, the simple fix is to climb into the drivers foot well and look at the underside of the steering column. You should be able to see a long slim printed circuit board with a connector at one end. Disconnect it and the car should start ok, however the indicators will not automatically cancel.
The other thing that springs to mind, and this has happened to me is to check the key in the side of the central pod... If turned, this apparently swtiches every thing off except the door control.

I have just got back from the dealer and after speaking with TVR they have said there is a faulty batch of diodes on that very board you are talking of and they showed it to me. But i didnt know where it was so at least i know now and wont be stranded in the middle of the country again waiting for the RAC to come out...
