4 speed gearbox on Griff

Hi, must be a slow learner…. 40 years driving TVRs, just figured the Griff 500 doesn’t need 1st gear. Pulls off very nicely in second! Then sit in 4th at 30mph, much smoother than 3rd, which sits right at 1800rpm where it runs a bit lean. I am retiring this year, could explain a lot!

Had a selector failure a few years ago which left 4th permanently selected. It took a bit more clutch slip than I was comfortable with, but the engine had no problem pulling away in fourth.
