Wanted to post a follow-up from my earlier post…

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

… where I mentioned that I’d managed to put some relatively minor scratches along the nearside front wing, and halfway along the passenger door on my Tuscan.

After receiving a number of paintwork specialist recommendations on here, along with one from my local independent service/maintenance specialist, and one from my local TVR RO, I decided to go over to speak to Phil at PR Wood in Westcliffe-On-Sea.

Firstly, I must state that I have no affiliation whatsoever, in anyway shape or form with Phil/PR Wood.

So, I drove over to see Phil, and it was a breath of fresh air speaking to someone so knowledgeable with TVR construction, bodywork & painting methodology. Phil reviewed my scratched panels, and confirmed he’d have no problem remedying the situation. Then on talking further, something I’ve pondered with for a number of years now, I asked about a full front end re-spray. Again, Phil said the work would be no problem, and explained in extensive detail what was involved, and the pros/cons of the work (of which there were minimal cons). So, I decided to take the plunge and get the front end re-sprayed, along with the damage to the front passenger door.
My biggest worry, was matching the paint, as having owned the car since 2002, yes near fully 20 years, I have not seen another Tuscan of the same colour.

So the car was booked in, and I managed to arrange for Phil to collect the car, and return it after completion. During the works being done, Phil sent me some pictures taken at the various stages of work, and the preparation pictures were pretty scary, but Phil assured me the finished article would be well worth it……and boy, how right he was!. The car turned up back at my house, on the back of Phil’s truck, and I was blown away. The work he did was stunning, I had no idea it would look so good, and the paint match is amazing, total 100% match. Phil even did a few extra unseen bits on the car, purely because he said – “it wouldn’t have been right to leave them, and he wasn’t prepared to not do them, knowing they were there”.

I can’t thank Phil enough for how he has transformed my Tuscan, it now looks better than when I first took ownership of it back in April 2002. I can only describe Phil as a perfectionist, he really knows his stuff, and the detail at which he explains the various processes involved, is very reassuring. Anyone thinking of using PR Wood, should not be put off by his premises, as I honestly do not believe it would be possible to get a better job done than what he has done to my Tuscan, anywhere in the country.

If you ever need anything bodywork wise done to your TVR, I cannot recommend PR Wood highly enough, the guy is a genius.

I can assure you my Tuscan is Metallic Raspberry, after the last few months of paint hunting, it’s nailed on Metallic Raspberry 👍.

Apologies, you’re right, my Tuscan colour is mentioned in my profile, but not in this post. Halcyon Heather is also a great colour though 👍.

I looked in Mr T's profile and saw it was Raspberry. Reason I looked is someone else has a Raspberry Tuscan (2000 model) and he wanted to know if anyone knew the original owner. I told him I remembered meeting a guy at an event I organised who had one in early 2001 and found a picture of his car and also my memory of the first owners name. Details are in the link I referenced below.
