Yes, that's a known issue that you'll find loads of info on here about, including potential cause of electrical fires. It's one of the key things to monitor during ownership.

I think that's another case of poor maintenance... something anyone with T car knowledge is aware of .. and is regular service inspection requirements ..It should be packed with grease.. Fuel line pipes and tank connections also require regular checking..
PS I assume it had the cover on ???

It's a nice have on a car which needs electrical power to get in rolleyes

However mines been disconnected for 7 years and I've only been caught out once with a flat battery, but the window still dropped and door opened, just. So I can't see the point of retaining a potential risk.

Going back in the mists of time this is what sparked a major fire at TVR Power.

I have a Battery Brain for the T350. Totally isolated at the press of a fob. In a house with an integral garage, it helps me sleep easier on a night. We all know of two major building fires at TVR garages, both likely caused by faulty Anderson connectors.

Have all the known fires been attributed to the plastic casing failing due to the swelling of the attaching bolt?
If so, and once a pattern emerged, why wasn't a recommendation made that a stainless bolt was to be retrofitted, hell, push the boat out and fit an A4 grade, it's only pence.

When my alternator packed up going to the Lakes , I managed to drive home with a borrowed battery from an RAC man sat on the passenger floor connected with a long lead to said Anderson connector smile . I always carry a long Anderson lead in case I need or need to give someone a jump start.
I also use it for my Accumate charger and Snap-On Portable Power 1700 smile
