Been following this on Instagram, tvrsagaris_build, it was a 120K mile V10 DCT engine dropped in it. He still got to make the bonnet fit.

As the presenter says, he cannot think of a more unreliable combination than a TVR with the BMW V10. He calls the V10 a ticking time-bomb! The owner has just swapped one unreliable engine for another, and added a lot of mass to the front of the car in the process.

In the video the owner says the BMW engine was 26kg heavier, I guess it depends on what you consider ‘a lot’ smile

Bloody brilliant. How often do you see a Tvr project like this.
Once the bonnet fits it will be magic.
I know Lambo’s that need turning off to re set the bloody things so that’s no surprise to me it wouldn’t select a gear.
It looks very well engineered to me.
Good on him.
We need more people like this in the community

He said the engine that came out was a 4.5. Not sure that S6 engine is unreliable? Someone stands behind it with a 100k warranty?

Reputable rebuilders make a reliable S6, but they sure weren’t that out of the factory.

What a rubbish combination! I prefer the TopCats LS9 supercharged V8.

Tbf, other than the rod bearing issue, what's unreliable about them?

I love the build.. Follow it on Instagram as well. Can't beat the wail of a v10!

The owner was making comments on the engine with his tongue firmly in his cheek, speaking about 'experts' on the internet.
The video of engine noise and runs up/down the estate were interesting and different

Sounds a great idea, until you try to sell it at a later date. e.g. the Maserati Cerb that failed to sell at auction

What is a conventional Sag going for these days, £75k? This one will probably be worth half that

Wish I had the knowledge and experience that this requires though, it takes some bottle

Dare I say it, I love the maser engined cerb, but I reckon it might have shifted more easily in a standard shell.

Owner says he has no plans to sell it, do the LS engine ones suffer when selling?

I'm in the keep it original camp (or increase the engine capacity) but you've got to admire the engineering on projects like this

Meh, fit a lithium battery and you've countered most of the weight gain.

Personally I'd have gone manual over DCT.

Does look like he's going to need a substantial bonnet bulge to get one on.

yikes What a shame, at least he was honest. Before ye driving Gods say, do this, do that when out of shape, your a passenger by then and no more. Anyway, hope he gets it fixed and keeps another on the road. PS; The outside lane on a motorway is an 'overtaking lane' and not 'the fast lane' as quoted. yeah, yeah, I know,,,, getmecoat

Been following him a while on Instagram, he's pulled the engine already in preparation for sorting the bodywork. Hopefully it'll be back on the road in no time.
