Hi. I currently own a '73 2500M that I've just put back on the road as a 5000M. A 1971-ish 2500 recently came my way and is going to be my next project. Not sure if this one is going to be a race car or some kind of restoration. Presently the idea is to fit a Duratec 4-banger in it with a T9 and a R160, 180 or 200 LSD rear end. The car is a vixen-like body meant to sit on a tweener pre-M frame. But the pile of parts I am purchasing includes later M-series frame (not original). This frame was in a fender bender on the left rear so will be bent back into shape by the local alignment shop. However, I believe I am going to need replacement a-arms and possibly also the upright. A couple of questions:

1) Does anyone have or know of a supply of M-series suspension parts? Or new fabricated parts?

2) Or better, anyone ever fit later rear suspension bits to an M-series? The Chimaera/Griffith rear setup looks a lot like an M, but with perhaps longer a-arms? I don't mind welding on the inboard pickup points for the suspension.

David Gerald, now incorporating Classic world racing, in Redditch used to have a lot of M model parts if I recall right.

Also member @Adrian on here might be able to help. (Adrian Venn)

Got an as new 3000M race car coming to market soon if you’re interested. Loads of history and properly built with money no object.

I'm on the West coat of the USA, already have a 5000M which came to me as a converted 3000M (originally 2500M). There were not many Essex V6's brought to the states and when I discovered that the PO had put the crank thrust bearings in backwards resulting in worn cups on the mating crank surfaces, I yanked the engine. Kinda too bad, it was running really well with Group 1 style heads, big valves and porting.
