Anyone know what’s happened to Fernhurst? The premises are now named Spur Garage and not a TVR in sight. The old Fernhurst website is still accessible but is it just a ‘zombie’ site?

Was Mr G. G. Munt involved with the original business?

A new limited company was incorporated in 2019, I think showing accounts assets of £1.

As a pure guess, perhaps this new company was formed, as a protection for the long standing business name.

Still not clear on this - from the Spur of Slindon website "After 25 years in the motor business supplying vans and cars in Slindon near Arundel. We purchased the Fernhurst Motor Company TVR site this year 2020, to offer a good range of quality used cars.....” They don’t stock any TVRs for sale.
Fernhurst are no longer listed on the TVR website as a service agent.
So what, if anything, is left of Fernhurst TVR?

I bought my Chim from TVR Fernhurst even though I believe they are owned by the other company now.
They still have some of the same staff and they still have vehicles round the back from the old showroom.

Why not give them a ring as they can tell you more than me as a customer smile

Graham Munt is the sole director of 3 companies all operating from the same address. The address for all 3 is 9 Midhurst Road, Fernhurst, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 3EE

Fernhurst Motor Company Ltd, appointed 5 July 2019

Fernhurst TVR Ltd, appointed 5 July 2019

JMB Motors Ltd, appointed 30 November 2017.

The website for Fernhurst Motor Company says Graham and Simon have over 50 years TVR experience with photos of TVRs and 2 TVRs for sale so looks like still very much TVR involved but also selling many different classics.
Perhaps a shift from TVR as maybe not willing to pay new TVR's dealer costs? And Jon39 may well be right in that he is keeping the old name?

When I checked about a year ago (online, not eyeballed), they had moved out of the old premises and were basically defunct. Some form of local TVR servicing was mentioned on the site, I think.

More recently I noticed they had cars up for sale again, but at a different location by appointment only.

So I’m guessing someone is still dabbling in sales but not the full dealer offering any more.

In the good old days, they were a flagship south of England TVR dealer with immaculately presented cars.

Yes a sad situation. I ordered my Chimaera 450 from Fernhurst at the 1997 London Motor Show, I guess with the last TVRs now being around 15 years old and no new cars on the horizon it’s become very difficult to run an operation on the scale of Fernhurst in the 1990’s / early 2000’s.

They were, I bought my first TVR from them Cerbera 4.5 and then a Griffith LE, Tuscan RR and finally a Sagaris. Always found them great to deal with (I don't think I ever got a discount though smile )

They have been out of their long time Fernhurst showroom premises for about a couple of years. They did have some showroom space (and used the workshop there as I had some TVR work done) in the relatively nearby Grayswood Motors premises during the early part of the pandemic but moved out...earlier this year again I think it was. Pretty sure they are still around, but not with a physical showroom, as I know they still subcontract out fabrication work.

I recently bought a griff off them. They still have a couple of ramps and a small showroom around the back of the old showroom.

Very much scaled down from they used to be but very helpful and friendly service. Many of the old staff still work there.
