Myself, Barrie Piper and Paul Chance are all signed up for a private test day this coming Monday 19th at Santa Pod.
I seriously think they can beat my best ET of 10.61
Mine is a Chimaera Turbo currently boost lowered to around 470bhp
Barrie also has a Chimaera turbo but a better engine and about 530bhp
Paul has a new LS engine in his Cerbera and probably over 600bhp
Who do we think will be fastest on the day?

Paul’s LS is a fresh build so I am not certain of the current spec. Previously it was a stroked 6.9 Ltd LS3 with Kinsler TBs and was around 600bhp.
As for tyres Paul has a used pair of MT drag radials which have been treated to tyre softener I believe.
Barrie is on the same size drag radials also.
I have newish Hoosier drag radials slicks.
Whatever happens it will be great to see the guys at the pod again.
I think the pod is allowing spectators so enquire about coming along if you are interested.
Also bring a helmet as we can do passenger rides. See what 0-60 in under 3 seconds feels like.

I drove KTM 250 engines in gearbox carts.. I know what that feels like on my arse As for tyres Paul has a used pair of MT drag radials which have been treated to tyre softener I believe.

Be great if you can make it along Alun. A little help pushing the car up the fire up lane while talking nonsense will be much appreciated. So yeah I think I’ll come along if the weather stays dry

Fire lanes the best place to be so bang on. Can someone meet me at the gate and slip me in? What times gate open for pit crew lol.
I’ll be on two wheels so takes up very little room.
I don’t mind paying but don’t fancy waiting in a long que.

Not if it has stock pistons and and disabled knock sensors.
Would it not make 600 Bhp with stock pistons? Will he have a disadvantage on tyres?
It'll be interesting to see the rusults and sounds like a fun day out. Rover's with boost are very capable and light to.
Anybody wheelspinning will have issues and they'll all have gobs of power.
Haha.
Quick Peter.
Considering the searing heat bloody quick Peter.
I better leave the details for the boys to mention.
Really nice to be there on a private day so not too many vehicles and waiting time down to a minimum.
I managed 95 miles there and back on my bike down country lanes only. Tarmac melting heat which appeared more like crude oil. Bike ran a dream.
I feel battered but really glad I went and met the boys. Top dogs.
Brummie Cerb is a masterpiece of engineering.

First thing i want to say is what a fantastic set up these private test days are.
Only 90 cars are entered and there was only ever a handful of cars in the fire up lanes at anytime.
If anyone is inclined to take a Monday off work for one of these events i can highly recommend it. All the track time you need at your own pace. Some cars must have had over 20 runs easy.
I will post up when the next day is and lets see if we can get a few more TVRs along.
Yesterday was ridiculously hot, i saw 37 degrees on the dash of my daily.
As it was so hot most cars suffered and power was down considerably and this showed in the fact most people were around 5mph down on normal terminal speeds.
Despite this i was happy my car (on low boost also) ran a couple of 11.2's with mid 1.6 to 60 foots. My diff was complaining in the burnouts so i wasnt warming the tyres enough. I was happy enough all things considered.
Barries super soft suspension worked a treat and he ran a 10.8 at 127 i think. What was most impressive was the 60 foot times dipping into the 1.4's and i am sure i saw air beneath his nearside front tyre on one launch.
Paul battled on through the day getting plenty of runs in. 10.9s at first, then 10.8s with a bit of suspension tweaks then 10.7's with a few more tweaks. His car performed brilliantly in the heat and still ran 132 mph!
It has to be said that on a cooler day bothe Barrie an Paul would have taken my best time of 10.61 that i set back in 2016 when i had a massive nitrous abuse problem
Well done Barrie and Paul, hope you make it to the next one and run 10.5s or less. You both deserve too.
