TVR Sourcing & Pre-Purchase Inspection
Discussion
I have decided that it is time to purchase the car that I should have bought new when I test drove one nearly 20 years ago…a TVR Cerbera 4.5. I will need help in sourcing the right car and would like the assurance of a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Does anyone have personal experience of any particular firm offering these sourcing and inspection services that they can share and/or a recommendation.
Thx

Just find one test drive it do the deal Subject to satisfactory inspection and ask the owner to take it to a local indie and yiu pay a couple of hundred for the inspection. Sourcing is easy these days. Although if its a cerbera 4.5 your after there aren't any around so you will have to be patient. Or buy from a trader if yku aren't confident
You're in the north east according to your profile so your nearest true tvr dealer will i reckon be hexham horseless carriages, you wont go far wrong buying your car from them if they ever have anything suitable, or getting an inspection done there if you find a car locally through other means.
Alternatively Steve Wallinger at Selby TVR used to offer inspections / sourcing through his Intermotion company .. might be worth a call to Selby TVR to see if he still offers that service .. if so use him!

Thanks. HHC in Hexham are only 4 miles away which is a real bonus for servicing. I keep an eye on their stocklist in case they have something suitable.Alternatively Steve Wallinger at Selby TVR used to offer inspections / sourcing through his Intermotion company .. might be worth a call to Selby TVR to see if he still offers that service .. if so use him!

Steve did the inspection on my Griff last summer for a buyer. He also fell in love with my T350 while he was at my house. Eventually bought that off me aswel, as I was moving to Spain.Alternatively Steve Wallinger at Selby TVR used to offer inspections / sourcing through his Intermotion company .. might be worth a call to Selby TVR to see if he still offers that service .. if so use him!
A really nice guy, and knows his stuff.

Not used this myself, but when I purchased my car 13 years ago, amongst the vast paperwork I received with it, was a report commissioned previously by the above, and to be fair it was pretty comprehensive, not sure if Rob is still going, but he's worth considering.rigga said:

Hi CHEJ, if you're that close to HHC it may be worth going in to see Tony and letting him know what you're looking for, it's entirely possible he'll know of a car that could be coming up for sale or may have something already in stock and not yet listed.
I decided I wanted to return to TVR ownership so enquired with Tony on a couple of cars he had in, both went before I could view but he kept me posted on possible cars and I picked up a Griff 500 from him a few weeks ago.
