TVR POWER'S NEW TOY

Just had my first 1000 mile Taraka service at Power. The car wasn't running too bad, or so I thought, it just needed the tappets re-adjusting and it was hunting a little a lower revs. While it was there, Dom and Jamie showed me their latest toy, an injector cleaning machine and they suggested I have my injectors sonicly cleaned. So I did. Picked the car up tonight and the difference is very noticeable. The hunting is almost gone, the car's smoother across the entire rev range and the pick-up on initial acceleration is vastly improved. Apparently only 5 of my injectors were actually producing anything that resembled a correct spray pattern but after the treatment all 8 are now fully functional.
So, in conclusion, this is probably the cheapest performance increase the cars ever had and I left a nice number 11 outside the gates to show my appreciation.(Although I think I need a little more practice).:driving:

Well reminded. They took mine out and put a 2nd hand set in. Nobody has spoken to me to say they've done it yet!!

Visited TVR Power on Thursday to collect the Elephants plenum & ally covers from Jamie to take away for polishing.

Whilst there Jamie told me that he had put Nellies injectors on the new machine and that 5 of the 8 were blocked. No wonder I couldn't start the old girl!

Great to see an excellent service getting even better

I was over there on Thursday too, Jamie and Jason showed me the new injector cleaning machine, they were particularly pleased with it's effectiveness on cleaning the injectors from the White Elephant.

I would guess that the majority of cars with injection systems would benefit from this process,aka Wixers comments, a cost effective way to increase your cars performance.

Anyone know what the cost is for an injector clean, if I was to just drop my injectors in to them?

Can't remember cost of top of my head, give them a ring 02476 366177, speak to Dom or Jamie.

There is another benefit to having your injectors cleaned, which never occured to me until I'd driven the car more, over the weekend, but my economy has also been improved. I know it's not something you worry about on these cars but it's an added bonus.

Is this fuel injection or cash injection?

Trust you to notice the monetary benfits of this piece of kit......thought about an LPG conversion me little old lad?

I would've thought you would jump at any chance of saving a few coppers, as it would allow you to buy some more 'bling' for your engine, or at least allow you to re-new your bonnet hinges, it's been up that many times this year, displaying thee 'bling',they must be worn out!!.....

So, when you having it done ???....

Nice idea about the LPG though, I'll give it some thought.

Think Steve's Chim is the only TVR which has the bonnet release wired in to the off position on the ignition key.

Helps him get the bonnet up faster when he pulls up at meets
