Just noticed quite a few of the well known press cars are up for sale http://www.jamesagger.com/stocklist.asp
I've seen others up before every so often, but not a whole bunch...and some well known ones too like the Top Gear Griff. Any rumours or speculation I can start with this one ;)

I'd say the complete opposite, what could be safer than a car that has been used as it was designed to be used, and maintained by the very people that designed it? Remember the red cerbera was Mr Wheelers vehicle of choice for a substantial period of time so if you worked in the factory would you really build a donkey or maintain shoddily a vehicle that you knew your boss was going to using every day. I'd say that those vehicles would be a bloody good buy, they are priced competitively and you know they are as straight and well maintained as its possible for a TVR to be. No scrimping on maintaining those puppies.

Thirded - my '03 T350 was an ex demo car - they fixed all the nigles. In two years has needed 2 replacement oil sensors - that's it
Mine is an ex demo also, and it's been virtually perfect! I was even told by TVR Power that the demos/press cars all had blueprinted engines! ( I asked about getting mine done, but they said there's no need!

All that matters is that if they have been well looked after and maintained, there should be few problems, no matter how many previous owners show on the log book!

Also agree with Mel, my first TVR was a factory press car with 42000 miles on it... everything was immaculate, worked and was 100% reliable the whole time i owned it.
The Ocean Haze Griffith was also used by Peter Wheeler for some time and I believe has recently had alot of work done to it. He took me for a few laps round Donnington circuit when I was looking to buy a Griff... it was very very quick!
