Hi everyone
I am looking for a replacement Rev counter in magnolia for my Cerbera
I have the one with 1 window at the bottom and need the one with 2 windows
I had a LS7 fitted but now cannot sinc the Rev counter and ECU. Apparently the one with 2 windows is compatible.

I feel sure there must be some signal adapter unit that can join the two up. It isn't a very complex signal at the end of the day.

I thought the only different tacho (electrically) was for the very very very early 4.2 cerb ie pretty much first year of production .. I can't think that there's any difference in the way the mbe outputs it's tacho signal wave over the years .. who told you to get a later tacho and what exactly did they say is different about it ?

Brian at Topcats
Apparently the latest LS7 uses a different ECU to what they used to.
Both Topcats and the man they use for the mapping can’t get them to sinc. The Rev counter shows exactly half of what it should be showing.
I have a lot of confidence in their work and am sure if it could be done they would have done it.
It’s not a cost they are passing on to me, I am just trying to help find one.

Fair enough .. presumably there's an easy to access switch or something to turn the tacho into a 4, 6 or 8 cyl version maybe? Can't say I've ever noticed.

The tvr salvage yards are your friends here I reckon. Bell hill (if they're still going) douglas valley, and tvr glen.

I have just purchased a new rev counter for my pre-cat Griff from Carbont.

They were super helpful and efficient.

Hard to believe it is next door to a not so speedy instrument repair place.....

May be worth giving them a call or dropping them an e mail.

Seems to me that some sort of frequency doubler is in order. It's trivial to do digitally and I'm sure there'll be somebody selling them off the shelf for a fraction of the cost of swapping a gauge.

They are the same company, I had to wait 5 months for my new rev counter to arrive.

The new one is configurable so OP this may be an option for you.

I had to get a digital taco interface from Dakota Digital to run the standard tacho for the LS3 in my Griff, worth a look
