Cheap mk3 convertible S for sale in the classifieds
Discussion
Not sure how the owner could reassure people the listing is real. The paper work contains both his name and VIN number of the car along with details of where it was serviced (which checks outs to where the car is for sale). Its only going to take 5 mins in Google and a couple of phone calls to be 99% sure its genuine.
I think its priced to sell realistically based on the mileage. Yes its a rare Tuscan Vert, and an S at that - but clearly the owner doesn't disguise the fact that its not the best example you will find and that if you want it perfect it will require some cosmetic work and that at 60k miles he needs to price it lowish. The pool of buyers is very small and some of the buyers will be collectors and this car won't appeal to.
So to me the ad is well written, obviously genuine and priced appropriately for the type of buyer the car will appeal to

Come on guys, it’s not that cheap. It’s where you would expect it to be, it’s certainly not a bargain.
Depends if you compare it to the 60,000 mile Sags at £60k same list price when new, same engine. same brakes, same Aircon, same'ish suspension, same/better trim, better exhaust system, more comfortable seats , roof that comes off , proper storage space in a boot just misses slashes in the front and rear wings .

I wasn’t. I was comparing it to the two other Tuscan MK3s which nobody wants to buy and have been advertised for two years or more... presumably because they’re too expensive.
The STR8SIX one i(originally £52k) isn't an "S" and I don't think Darrens retrim of the red one is a good selling point glow worm said:

The STR8SIX one i(originally £52k) isn't an "S" and I don't think Darrens retrim of the red one is a good selling point I personally like the retrim on the red car but I can see why others wouldn’t. I remember Bespoke were very quick off the Mark when the owner advertised it privately all that time ago, I seem to recall he put it up at £41k and it appeared on Bespoke’s forecourt at £55k a short time later.
The simple facts are that those Tuscans still need price adjustments. They are not selling. Clearly there’s no issue of condition as they are being sold by the best in the business. It comes down to price, pure and simple. The car at £37500, with 60k miles, and no warranty or prep or other retail benefits, it’s not particularly cheap.
No mention of a rebuild either, at 60k miles I’d want to be factoring that in; plus cosmetic work the owner states it needs (stone chips, wheel refurbs, driver’s seat wear).

I sold my Convertible "Private sale" last year. He paid a large deposit and was waiting for a lockdown to be over to collect it but in the meantime he contracted COVID. fortunately he is well but suffering "Long COVID" He told me to keep 50% of the deposit as storage fees as the deal is now not going to go through (pensioned off due to ill health). From what I was going to be paid for mine I would say the car in the advert is priced correctly. Not a rip off nor a bargain.

I see a Deposit has been taken on the Formula Red car (now with Castle at £46,500 )... obviously Summer is coming and COVID restrictions on the decine. Someone is happy with the price .I personally like the retrim on the red car but I can see why others wouldn’t. Bespoke/Castle seem to have reduced the prices on a lot of their cars and for some strange reason they've started to sell Edited by glow worm on Monday 22 March 10:00

I think sports cars will start to sell now and prices will increase. Very few people are going to buy a sports car when they can only travel on essential journeys. With the likelihood of foreign holidays being out of the question this summer, people will have spare cash too. Time is also running out before they are forced to go electric.Getsis said:

I see yours is up for sale. Have you changed your mind about this "S" being a bargain now ? I owned the Formula Red car for a time, although I didn’t get to drive it as it was stripped awaiting a return.
I considered keeping it and having the interior trimmed in a Saddle Brown with Daytona style perforated seats.
Topped off with a Tan hood it would have looked rather good IMHO.
As it happened I received an offer on the car and i sold it on.
Always regret not keeping that one, although new red/cream interior it wears now, is a touch too bright for me.

I am the new owner of the formula red Tuscan S convertible. I too thought the coloured interior was rather loud but actually in the flesh it really suits the car.
Some work done on the car and quite a few adjustments but running lovely now and already put 300 miles on the clock since I collected it. It’s my first TVR and makes such a great noise. It also attracts a lot of admiring looks despite its age.
