Does anyone use or anyone tried a car storage bag? I mean the type you drive onto and then cover over, zip up, making it totally sealed.
I think you then place some form of dehumidifier in it before sealing.

I was wondering if it stops condensation in a un heated garage?

Any advise would be much appreciated

I’ve used a inside carcoon for winter storage for 15 years. It is well worth the money as the constant airflow keeps the car dry and condensation away. Constant airflow is the the key for avoiding moisture. No rusty brake discs or mouldy interiors. I believe the outdoor ones are just as effective.

Father in law has one (in the garage) I’m fairly certain it has a built in dehumidifier. Keeps any moisture out, that’s for sure. So I would think they are ok if you could be bothered with the faffing about. I suppose if you’re going to drive in and leave it for 5 months...great... thumbup

I used a Permabag storage bag for one winter which was included with a car I bought to recommission. It worked fine and had the advantage of not needing access to electricity. I also inherited an indoor carcoon but found it awkward to use, would have been ok if I wanted to leave the car alone for months at a time, for regular access for tinkering etc I would have a version with a frame. All were useful to prevent any hassle from mice though!

Thank you for all the feed back, seems like they work although a bit of a faff if you want to use / tinker over the winter. May be easier to insulate the garage!

Sagaris and Elise all tucked up for the winter. I swear by mine, both cars brake discs show zero sign of any surface corrosion. But also I like them because they keep out any rodents as well

The Sag is in a Carcoon Veloce which is the drive in drive out and bloody brilliant. The Elise is in a standard Carcoon which is much more of a faff but just lives in there over winter lay up

Yes, have had both the standard carcoon and the ridged frame type where you can drive in and out of in the past.
Although as said above, the carcoon is a bit of a faff, both are brilliant at keeping the car dry.
Well worth the moneythumbup
